My time at APSense

Image Over the years I've said and done a lot of things at APSense.

I've made a lot of good connections, learned a lot about marketing online, participated in a lot of good discussions, and had a lot of fun exploring and testing things out discovering what works what doesn't and what actually harms your reputation online.

I've also said a few things I shouldn't have, peeved a few people off and even made an enemy or 2 (so be it, I still say there's nothing that can't be talked out!)

One thing I've never done is buy into some program on a members page where I see nothing but copy and paste opportunity shouting.  I've never paid much mind to anyone on any social networking site who couldn't muster up a hello or talk about anything at all unrelated to their business for more than 5 seconds.

On the other hand I've always valued the input of others, whether criticizing or agreeable, I've never pretended (contrary to poplar opinion!) to know everything or be any better than anyone else.  I've also always been an advocate for truth, in advertising and in real life, justice, and accountability of ones own actions on a social networking platform.

As for my future use of apsense which is yet to be determined but I am sure little will change in the way I do things, I would suggest for any newly active members, especially those newer to so-called internet marketing that they really take some time here and get to know the people in this "member-driven" community, experiment with things and have some fun with the site.

This is what worked best for me, and my time at APSense....

And that one roll of rationed TP is expected to last a family four. But if you run out you can always draw from next month's ration! Just be prepared to live on anti diarrheal medicines so you can last on a half ration next month!

I guess the focus has shifted from the "top business Social network online, driven by You!" to (?).. safelist facebook??

Detrimental change is the way of the future.. we need authority figures to ensure we pay increased amounts of dough into to tax dollars in exchange for increased regulation, a global socialist state and the complete annihilation of our freedoms and rights. We need bureaucrats to tell us what we can eat, ensure the process of achieving anything remotely worthwhile becomes a

Freedom, liberty and reason are things we constantly have to fight to preserve in the inevitable changes of Life but these ideals are worth fighting and even dying for if need be. Keep up the fight, Cheryl and Old Coot, here on APSense with love and respect.

Another aspect that has to be contended with is the massively current process of "dumbing down". Our education systems are designed to produce failures. Our TV programmes are little more than trash. Political correctness has invaded life to such an extent that to live life to the full, you just can't help "offending" someone. Self respect is almost non existent since it is almost impossible to find anybody under the age of 30 who actually knows what respect is. Advertising has bastardised our la

The thing is Roosevelt We long time APsense members remember a time when we could speak freely without worrying about being censored or reported simply because someone doesn't like what we say. No one was deleting comments with opposing viewpoints and no one was abusing us for being 'offensive'. Tell me what constitutes offensive? That Offensive button is nothing more than a way for a member to abusively harass other members by reporting them for abuse. It the same tactic that Nazis used dur

We can neveer go back to the past but only fight to preserve in the present what was Good in the past. You long time APSense members have great value here on APSense, but things change and evolve. The culture of APSense has changed some for the good, maybe some for the bad, but you Old Timers need to Keep The Faith in APSense.

That is true Arthur and our debates also drew other members to come see what the hoopla was about and even add their own comments. Those articles and subject drew intelligent comments at times as long as the original post itself. And no one was hiding behind abuse or 'verbal' violence because we disagreed. And Oddly enough we still respect each other, we are still here and APsense enjoyed a lot of member activity from it, Quality member activity-not a bunch of insincere 'Attaboys"

So, you remember the good old days too, Cheryl. I really miss the cut and thrust of open debate. It is so sad to see "articles" that do not even attempt to create a conversation. You and I have had some emotional(?), exciting(?), interesting(?) and personal(?) exchanges in years gone by and, while we may not have battered each other into submission, we certainly aired some great topics! Aaaahh - memories!

It certainly doesn't help either person's business when both are working at cross purposes, selfishly trying to get a sign up instead of trying to support and promote each other.

I agree with you Ms.Cheryl. Dragging one another is misleading and does not encourage personal growth and development.

Malok What I am talking about is members actually communicating with each other and and not talking AT each other. Members were actually asking each other about what they did and trying to find ways to work together not trying to drag each other into opportunities.

There are thousands of member on APSense and it is not necessary for you to be involved in every relationship between members on the site. There was a time when the majority of active members where actively communicating, sharing and building relationships between each other and not just posting another ad about come join me on this get rich quick site or look how much I made on this get rich quick site. They were getting to know each other and building solid relationships in which both partie

That's your opinion, Cheryl, I receive tons of PMs and I take the time to answer them, but it's humanly impossible to give personal help to hundreds of new members a week

The Idea of Personal contact between members, actually greeting a newbie and taking the time with that person and building a personal relationship between two members is no longer popular. That taking time to get to know others has fallen by the wayside in favor of how much can I post to game the honor point system. There was a time when members sent PM back and forth filled with questions and advice person to person. Those days seem to be gone and the members are poorer for it.

The APSense Wiki is an add-on service, you go on your homepage, then into the add-on services section, you click on "manage", then you see the list. I think it's a better idea to point new members to the Wiki, to get them to learn the basics, then we can teach them the meat of APSense, and of course they have the choice of going to ASK!APSense or to send PMs to experienced members

Philippe - can you not see the incongruity in having a Wiki (hard to resist putting 'dippi' after that) when Apsense was always about sharing, helping and developing? I haven't had a Wkik dippi (no, could not resist it) because I can't find it - presumably it is a paid feature.

The thing is, Garnet, the Wiki has articles and videos about how to use the numerous features to build relationships in efficient ways, that's why I mentioned it. I refer all new members to the APSense General section then Tutorials and a few other articles, because the material has been updated to talk about the changes that happened on June 24.

Obviously I predate the Wiki, did have a glance at it but that is about it. Regardless this post is more about engaging the site and it's community, there actually is multitudes of knowledge and insight buried in various faucets of the site as OC mentioned, as for whats coming next TIME will tell....

The best resource to help new members at APSense is the APSense Wiki. It's great because they can go there to learn the ropes then move on to build relationships and learn about SEO, traffic, safelists, whatever else they need to build their business. I do hope you stay tuned for what's coming next, Garnet.
