Sign of the Times?
So far seeding this year has gone quite well despite what has been the coldest spring I've ever witnessed, it just didn't seem to want to warm up at all this year until finally about 2 weeks ago we started getting some actual tee-shirt weather, thank God...I thought it would never warm up!
Anyways a couple oddities I have noticed here in this time when people are starting to move back to Saskatchewan along with the talks of oil and coal production(an idea which I really am not too fond of).
On our land we have a crossing where the water overflows out of the lake, much to my suprise there was a spring of water that just showed up in the crossing overnight, which I thought was both cool and odd given the rarity of water springs in our region.
Well odd enough as that was, back when my grandfather's generation were the ones tending to the land, there used to be fish in nearly every little hole that contained the slightest bit of water...until the old geezers fished them all out which was well before my time. Well long story short there was still a creek or two that had fish when I was a child, but those too had no fish to speak of since I was very young...until now, it seems the fish have returned, hopefully to stay this time!
As for seeding, well I have about a week left to go but given the rain we got the other night (which by the way was the first rain we have actually needed in four years), I am gone fishing!

Gonna have my dinner by the river this evening and watch the folks fishing for shad... Too beautiful outside to go straight home. :)

Hope you caught your limit while you were out. Glad to have you back too.
We just had a bit more Snow last night in the upper elevations (I live at 6900 ft above see level) and we can see the snow about 500 feet above us. So the creeks and rivers haven't cleared up enough to fish yet, but we have some of the best trout fihing in the west out here.
Some aeras of the Animas are restricted to only allowing you to keep fish that are at least 20" long! And they are in there too!

Hey, Garnets gone fishing... Have fun! Hope you have a lucky cork like I have.
I can fish a fish out of a mud hole with it, ha!

We are having very cool temperatures and lots of rain for May in this region-- I loving it because I have no love of hot weather-- Striped bass are moving into the river, but the shad are late-- Not a good sign... They show up at the middle of April normally, but that month was hotter than usual..
The price of a fishing license has gone up-- But I might get a discount from my old buddy at the bait shop-- I haven't been fishing for so long that it will be very good to get back on the water a

The spring sounds great! Would love to have a spring in my garden, but no
chance, I'm afraid.
Enjoy the fishing! :-)

I haven't been fishing yet this year. I can't wait! Last year was pretty good (being that I don't eat fish anyway)...I just love to 'do it'. Have fun and catch some for me....since you won't have to send them to me!
