Local Business Consulting - A Long Standing Trend, With A New Approach
Local business consulting is currently the most talked about trend in the online marketing world. The reason for this is because a lot has been going on in the local business sector since the recession kicked in.
Local businesses are going through a rough patch and they need a direction. Almost everywhere you turn to now, you'll find some information regarding offline marketing/consulting.
People have built a business for themselves by just helping local businesses with various services like website development, seo, branding, social media management, mobile marketing, etc. But before these services came into existence, local business consulting was already there.
It's just that the internet has sped up the way we do things today, and the businesses out there that are not in line with this trend are finding it hard to catch up. That's where these service providers step in to help them get on board.
There's one element that is trying to bring this industry down, and that is "Greed". The reason I say that is because people easily forget that they are meant to help these small local businesses get the results they are looking for.
When the focus is more on the money one receives, then there's bound to be a red flag flying. Skepticism will then creep in.
Local business owners are weary of pushy sales people, cold callers, spammers, and agencies that constantly bombard them with information about their services.
This approach is detrimental to the success of the local marketing arena. If you are involved already, you will know that getting your first client is an uphill task (I'm not referring to the services you offer to family and friends).
So, to make things easy and effective for both parties, anyone doing or interested in doing offline consulting for local businesses should apply certain principles such as...
- Good knowledge of your target market through research
- A workable marketing plan of action
- A strategic method of approaching local business owners

Marketing Consultant & Coach
This is indeed a very old post, sorry the webinar is no longer available. I do have a couple of webinars in place (one for consultants and coaches, and the other for business owners who want to learn how to get leads/clients from Facebook, using content marketing). I'll email you the links by tomorrow. Cheers!
