Be Like Cynthia - A Web Design Poem
Cynthia dreamed a dream, like most who do.
To start a new venture, and be successful too.
Though rough was the path, she had no fear.
With zeal she stepped out, without one tear.
A little flower shop she opened, down the old market road,
In came the customers, money at hand, and out with a load
A face always lit with smiles, Cynthia served with glee.
But months later, those smiles would flee.
Sales were down; the customers had stopped to come,
and sadness is what her face had now become.
“Everyone’s going online!” a friend did tell
“Online?” she'd inquired, “how does one sell?”
But off Cynthia went, not waiting for a reply
For time was not a friend; she was out of supply
Backed with good coffee, she did keep up late
To learn about this new thing, and decide her fate
Tick-tuck, tick-tuck - the clock did sing
Tomorrow is another day, but what would it bring?
Heavy eyes, with lids about to close for a kiss.
Then she saw something, which would give her bliss.
“A website!” she exclaimed. “That’s what I need!”
And off to bed she went, she was happy indeed.
Up she was at the crack of dawn, to set things in motion.
Her dear mum had always said “success comes from action!”
A website she did get, because she saw a good offer.
More customers, more sales… it was Christmas in summer!
This is a tale of a little flower shop down the old market road.
Run by Cynthia, who’s story just had to be told!
