After The Excitement... What Next?
So you've joined a new business, and learnt all there is to learn about the business. The product is great, the compensation plan just resonates with you.
You get excited, you can't contain yourself; the next move you make is spontaneous, purely based on the emotion. You pick the phone and call everyone you know; you ramble on and on forever, as to why they should jump on board this "ground floor" business with you. The next thing you hear is "Sorry, it's not for me" or "Not interested".
Your heart almost sinks, but you pull yourself up, and say to yourself - "That's just one person, there are many more to contact". On you go again with the calls, and still get the same response. Friends and family start ignoring you and your calls. You feel let down; you discover online marketing and social media, you jump at it.
You post links about your business opportunity on every available wall within your reach (yours and that of others), on groups you've joined; what happens after all that? You get banned because you've been reported as a "spammer". Your email account is also blocked for the same reason.
Money's running out of your account everyone month because of auto-ship, and you're not making anything in return. Your upline is probably unperturbed if you're progressing or not; it could be that he/she is, but does not know how to communicate with you, to get you to see the light.
You start complaining about the business, and the next option is for you to quit. So, here's the thing, after getting all excited at the start, what next? What were you meant to do? Are there things you need to learn about marketing online, on social media etc? Do you think is important to build relationships with others before sending information about your business? Think about it.

Otoabasi, great article. It describes very accurately what most online marketers have, are or are going to go through - the initial excitement... and then the almost inevitable gut wrenching "heart sinking." As you've pointed out, mindset (amongst other factors) is crucial. Also, having a mentor (who is both successful and experienced) to show you "the ropes" could go a long way in breaking this "excitement" then "sinking" cycle.
