Why are you telling the world you are illiterate???

That is exactly what you are doing when you upload a profile picture that is NOT a picture of yourself.

It states clearly below the browse button for selecting Your APSense Profile Photo,

"Please upload a photo of yourself."

Please upload a photo of yourself. It will be shared across all your profiles.
The size of a picture must be larger than 100x100.
You must have the permission to use or be the copyright holder of any images you upload to this site.

Note Bene

The word "YOURSELF" in the first item
and
all of item three,
"You must have the permission to use or be the copyright holder of any images you upload to this site"
which, incidentally is repeated everywhere there is an upload button.

So... when will YOU learn to READ INSTRUCTIONS?!

I have just rejected eight profile photos. 5 were images of logos, hence not Personal Pictures.
3 were pictures of humans that were scraped from the Internet, so again not personal pictures.

YES, I CAN tell, which are real within seconds, so STOP wasting your time and, subsequently, you will  stop wasting the time of those authorized to vet profile images.

That is the ones that carry out their task correctly.
Unfortunately, there are those that are empowered to authorize profile pictures that have no regard nor respect for the rules, and should never have been permitted to attain the privilege.

It was assumed that by the time people reached the level set to allow profile picture authorization they would have a complete understanding of what is required of them.
Alas that has proven not to be the case, and thus we do have a mass of profile pictures all screaming into the world,  "I am illiterate I cannot  read the rules."

Considering these people are wanting to make contacts and earn the trust of other members they are certainly not going to do it with the higher more experienced echelons of the  membership. Yes, they will attract the tire kickers who join every thing they see, but never put their hands in their pockets.
So The question is, are you going to shout out Hi this is me. Come and read my profile and see if I have something that interests you? Rather than shouting-out to the world that you are illiterate?

A few weeks ago I noticed a message on my login page about being qualified to approve profile pictures of (I assume) new members. I decline all logo's and meme's and internet scraped pics, but often wonder if those I decline are then informed about it...?? Please enlighten us, Bill... I'd hate to spend the time and it's to no useful end.

Your comment [Quote]can we do this all the time[Unquote] is another fine example of a comment that a) Makes no sense, and b) adds no value to the thread. Hence it has also been deleted on those grounds. Anyone else that fails to make a comment that is relevant to the post and does not add any value will have the comment removed.
You have been warned so don't start bitching when it happens.

@ Kishor Meswan and Joe Henning,

I was an Admin for APSense from May 2007 until August 2012. As you say Joe, they should be held accountable but Wincer, unfortunately, does not have the stones to do it. He is frightened that he will loose members if he enforces the rules hard and fast.

This was the reason I and the other three admins all resigned in August 2012. We were reporting blatant abuses, and Wincer would not terminate the accounts of the offenders.

You may ask why I bother as I am n

I concur! Why should those who are empowered to approve profiles and who are screwing up not be held accountable? Perhaps they don't know where to check on the validity of a picture? Open a complaint file specific to reporting profile pics, see who approved that pic and fire them if more than ten were approved by any specific party. This issue is such a PITA that I have personally started declining invites from members who don't use a real picture, including those using a logo. As for the 40 cr

NETWORK MARKETING ENTREPRENEUR

Hi BJ......100% accept your viewpoints but what is a LAW or RULE that is not implemented rigorously? High time Admin took the courage of sending out alerts to such members. give a time frame to upload original pics OR ELSE delete such members FAST.
I know many profiles uploading CELEBRITIES' pics.

Invite reports from Apsense members on such pics/profiles.

Such a step will definitely UPLIST the credibility & honour of this wonderful network.

Thanks BJ for taking up the issue so intensely @ 40
