Being Humanly Creative in the Age of Generative AI Tools

Call it my skepticism or my long-cultivated discipline in my creative expressions, I keep AI tools at bay from ever intruding into my creative zone, that's solely the private property of my cognitive realm.

These Gen AI tools, like ChatGPT and Gemini, are disturbingly creativity-killers. And I mean every word of my say here.

After seeing an ocean of AI-recycled writing tips, copywriting tips, and many more creativity-improvement tips on LinkedIn over the last few months, I, also, sometimes, feel tempted to use Gen AI tools and dump these "AI-recycled" garbage all over the social media platforms, just like others.

BUT THEN, my conscience hits me very hard, forbidding me against it.

It tells me that these AI tools are not designed to improve your creativity, rather they're meant for encouraging your addiction to them, just like Facebook in past times when it literally crippled people's cognitive intelligence, driving them into an inescapable virtual confinement.

Now, I see the same FB-like intoxication of these AI tools like Gemini, ChatGPT.....etc.

People are now officially ADDICTED (to them).

At least, I am maintaining the abstinence.

Not sure of how long, but so far I've exercised resistance against falling prey to their visibly imposing temptations.

Because, somewhere in my conscience, I am aware that once I am under the spell of their allure, I'll be DONE.

I am not hating these technologies.

Just can't stand entrusting my creativity to them.

After all,

The very attempt of entrusting your creativity to AI tools is a confession to lacking it, isn't it?

Solution?

I think the best solution lies in the fact that we must remain human, and use these technologies up to a point when it seems that they are not crippling our creativity or making us feel addicted to their imposing charms.

I repeat, they are not designed to improve our creativity. They are killing it and sadly, most of us are ignorant accomplices in this.

What's your take?
