Wordpress give you more control is more worldly known and has more options. Be aware, there are two Wordpress versions (self hosted or hosted at Wordpress (free version). Blogger is free too of course and is a Google product, hosted by Google.
I will recommend Blogger to a non techie enterprenour. All required to set up your page is your content. You can easily add add HTML codes to post banners. Editing is also made easy.

Well, I have used both blogger and wordpress. I had a bad experience with Wordpress on my first time with it. I set up a blog and did a lot of promoting and got to a PR3 within a month.. Then suddenly, the blog vanished. I wrote to Wordpress and they told me that I must have deleted it. I am 100% certain I did not do that, but it was gone with no way of getting it back. So I had a new blog with them, but was so disappointed that I had lost all faith in upgrading. I still have my WP blog but
