Both Blogger and Wordpress are good. Each has its advantages and disadvantages. One great disadvantage with Blogger which every user should take into consideration is that Google has control over your account and you can wake up one morning and find that your site is gone. No information, no questions asked. Just like that!
I am using Blogger for years and very happy with it:) I still think though, they are missing some new high techs that are not so new anymore, mainly drags and drops...but that is just minor details
That brings up another point, I have a new friend every week or so that is crying because their Blogger account was terminated, so if you use it make SURE to keep a backup of all your hard work. If you own the domain and install a free WordPress theme on it, you are in control and the cost is less than $2 a month. I guess it depends on if you think this is a fun hobby or a business???
The ultimate edge has gone to WordPress because it supports Reactive Design now and Blogger doesn't. With more and more traffic originating with Mobile Devices, if you don't accommodate them you are losing prospects. Now you can setup a WordPress theme that looks good on the highest resolution desktop screen or a tiny smartphone with NO EXTRA EFFORT. Ask me if you want to know more.

Wordpress is best. With it you can control the site and what happens to it. You control very little with Blogger

Definitely Wordpress because of their powerful and ever useful plugins. With wordpress you can link to your blogger - even more traffic. ^_^

I have used both and both are great if you don't spam. Both offer different platform and functionality.

At this time I prefer WP, but don't close your Blogger account, with the money Google has...

I like them both. I initially started using Blogger, but I also think that Wordpress offers more widgets to use.
