There are several important things that one must know when removing mould and its prevention in future. The mould can be really hard to remove, even after vigorous cleaning and washing, and then several hours after, you can still smell the odour.

The mould itself is not hard to remove, it is relatively easy. What is hard here is to remove the stains from the mould left behind and to eliminate fully the spores of it. If you think you cleaned and removed the mould spores, go outside and return after several hours, if you feel even a bit that unpleasant odour from the mould, then soon it will grow again on the same spot. I had hard-times with this when I had to remove it from a wooden wardrobe. Finally I have decided to buy a new one, because if you get mould or mildew on wooden household item or wall from wood, it is more likely you wouldn't kill it spores at all.

Since that station, I saw for myself that most of the products claiming to remove mould and kill its spores are just simply ineffective. To remove mould, would be the best first not to make an environment where the spores could multiply and inhabit. For example, during winter times in many houses the closet will soon start to get mould in the corners, duo to moisture in the room, the darkness and more. One must inform how to keep all of his rooms dry and not to create an environment where mildew could grow.

How to create hostile environment for it then? Opening windows or doors on regular basis for better air circulation is the first thing. If you live in humid area where the climate is responsible for the moisture in your house, you could buy a dehumidifier for your house. This device can remove any moisture from the air in the house. Another gadgets with reverse effects are sold too, but for residents where the air is way much dryer than normal.

Try also installing vapour barrier insulator on the doors and walls. Another gadget that could help you to make your home less inhabitable for mould is to rent an air filter.

If you are sure that the mildew will no more grow in your house, you can use a simple juice from lemon or white vinegar. What you need here is the acid that can really kill the spores. Never apply directly to the area the liquid, place it first on a clean cloth and then start rubbing the area where the mold was. You do not want to bring back that moisture environment. What is also harmful for the spores is heat.

Once you are done with the killing of spores, if you have a portable heater place it near the spot and heat it up for several hours. And close all doors and windows, in that way the humidity in the air will be less. For certain results, repeat the last two steps for two or three days more. The steps with the lemon juice rubbing and heating the spot.

If some part of any kind becomes to show mould growth, you can wash it with vinegar and then set it on high temperature again to kill the spores left behind. It is also recommended to clean the fixture outside of the house. You shall reduce the spore getting spread into your house. Do not try to cover mouldy floor with any carpet or mat. Soon or later it will get stained and overwhelmed and become a health hazard.

For people who are not capable of removing mould or do not have the time to handle it by themselves, there are many locally-based cleaning firms for any kind of cleaning with heavy big truck-mounted steam cleaning machines.
