In the house of my grandmother, in every single room there were rugs and carpets. Small and big, area or from wall-to-wall carpeting. The house was on two floors and an attic. I still remember as a kid how I used to play with my toys on those soft nice feeling carpets, with intense colourful pattern and symbolic writings. Since the death of my great-grandmother, most furnishings went to storage in the basement, all the carpets and rugs were rolled up, packed and stored on the attic. And the house was left on resting, uninhabited for years.

Twelve years later I have decided to check upon the stuff that were stored, most of the household items were quite old, thus absorbed with my memories of my relatives. Most of them I kept for the house. After doing a renovation of the 2nd floor, I decided to sell some of the items on eBay. Frankly I was surprise how many people are crazy about old and antique stuff. Anyway, I remained with some old carpets, with not so good look, darken and with faded colours. I place them outdoors on the alley of the house during spring time, and I started to wash it. Fortunately I saw that I was damaging all the pile with the hard brush, as my interest was to preserve its authentic look and to make it look clean.

I spared a minute for thinking and I thought it was good to do some researching on this matter. Since the carpet was more than 60 years old and even more, I have found that, it was complex process to restore the original look of a rug. The rug itself was hand-made, with cotton foundation, the pile was from silk, which honestly rose it value two time. I learned that the Persian style had a sub-style, which was "Hareka" and all the dyes were natural, meaning of which, there were not a single synthetic material in this rug.

Now, when I remember how I discovered this Persian rug, I steel enjoy those motifs illustrated on it, with nice and harmonious colour combination. The best carpet for me I left for my self of course. Who does not want to have a hand-woven Persian rug in his house. I know for sure, because my great grandmother has a lover, who was a merchant often travelling around the world. I started to realize that I had in my hands almost a century old carpets.

So, the most logical and best solution, was to find the best carpet cleaners in the business, now only for basic cleaning service, but also for restoration. A was needed a cleaners who must know how to treat such old an Original rug. It was easy to find cleaning firms, but the most hard part was to choose the right one. Anyway, since I cleaned and renovate the look of the carpet, I sold it for 9000 pounds, can you believe this.
