To Blog Or Not To Blog

I just recently started a blog with Google and I am already burned out with it. It's the same phenomena with me and publishing my own blog. I love being creative in setting up the blog but I hate maintaining the blog. I find maintaining a blog time consuming and distracting from my writing articles and blogs within the various social networks I am a member of like here on APSense. Maintaining a blog makes it hard to stay up to date with reading my safe list e-mails and traffic exchange surfing. I truly admire and respect anybody who can maintain a quality blog while taking care of all their other social networking and marketing activities. To blog or not to blog, that is the question for me right now.
I definitely am not going to delete Social Web Net right now but I am going to have to reset my networking and marketing priorities. My blog is going to have to fit seamlessly into my whole online agenda and it's got to be both productive and fun for me to maintain my blog. Where there is a will there is a way.

In my case, I am building my biz around 3 things: 1) helping online marketers 2) self-improvement 3) work-life balance. This gives me plenty of margin of maneuver.

Hi Roosevelt, I am faced with the same problem but my main dilemma is finding what I will not get tired of down the road and decide on a new direction. This has been an on going issue for me for years. I have been contemplating incorporating all that interests me so I can jump back and forth.

One tool you would love to use is Windows Live Writer. It was highly recommended to me, so I installed it last year. It's free. You write your posts on your PC, instead of on the WordPress or Blogger dashboard. When you're finished, you click "publish", it adds it to your blog. You made a mistake? No problem. You correct it in WLW, then publish again, it replaces the former post with the corrected one. I have a video on how to use Windows Live Writer if you're interested.

Elizabeth, I had never thought of auto-post of my own APSense content to my blog. Maybe for articles and RevPages? Although the tags we put in articles and revPages are not for search engines, but for branding ourselves. It's an idea to consider for sure. Some marketers might say it's preferable to not have identical content on 2 sites, but I'm not sure about that.

Roosevelt, there are different things you can do to add content. For example, when I see a great blog post from someone else, I r

I don't think he is being bombarded with comments from what I can see. He just needs more people to engage and comment. I don't know how you would do that with blogger. I have one blog left on blogger and I never even go there lately. But there are certain sites, social sites, that post to them automatically. I'd have to check to see which ones there are. Maybe we could get Wincer to add that app to Apsense. Then everytime we post here, it would automatically post to blogger, or wordpress. I thi

30 blogs...I had 6 or 7 a few months ago, I abandoned a few, no time to maintain them. They say we should one product one blog, but I haven't chosen that route, I hope I never have to. As for akismet, it's very efficient, does it exist for blogger too? Cause I think Roosevelt's blog is on blogger. And it doesn't solve the problem mentioned by Roosevelt, i.e. adding content, although I agree it's frustrating to have to go through tons of spam comments and akismet solves that problem. :)

I think it was called "onlywire" but it was through tribepro...I don't know much about it, I just set it up for him....He likes it....I used to have 30 blogs at one time...they do take a lot of time. But once they are set up and you get your 'askimet' set up to filter the spam, you shouldn't have too much time involved in the upkeep...

Cheers!
Hope everyone is having a great evening...:)

I stay away from auto-blogging, Elizabeth, I prefer to control content, but that's me, unless you talk about something else ?

There are a lot of different programs out there that will post to your blog and send commentators to it. My friend has something of that nature and it keeps his social train moving!
Cheers!
