When did the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) preach his last sermon?

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) delivered his last sermon on his 9 Dhul Hijjah on 10 AH (March 6, 623 AD).

Where did the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) deliver his last sermon?

The last sermon of Prophet Muhammad's pbuh was given on Mount Arafat. The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) delivered his farewell sermon in the Ulana valley on Mount Arafat, 20 kilometers east of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Prophet Muhammad (Saw) delivered his farewell sermon on the ninth day of Dur Hijjah in the Ulana Valley of Mount Arafat in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. The Messenger of Allah SWT's words were relatively brief and precise. Prophet Muhammad (Saas), after praising and thanking Allah for His SWT, said to all humanity:

"O people, listen carefully. I will not be among you again after this year. So listen carefully to me and come here today. Tell those who did not know."

O people, hold sacred all Muslim lives and possessions as you hold sacred this month, today, and this city. Please return the goods consigned to you to their rightful owners.Let no one hurt you. Let no one hurt you.

Remember that you will meet your Lord, and He will appreciate your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (interest). Therefore, all interest obligations are waived.

However, the city is up to you. They do not abuse or torment. Therefore, Allah has commanded Abbas He ibn He Abdul to give no interest to his Muttalib (uncle of the Prophet Muhammad) and henceforth to renounce all interest.

Beware of Satan for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he could mislead you with big things, so be careful following him with small things.

O people, you have certain rights over your wife, and she has rights over you. Remember that you brought them to your wives only under the trust and permission of Allah.

They have the right to good food and clothing if they obey your laws. Treat your wife well and be kind to her; she is your partner and devoted helper. Moreover, it is your right not to befriend people you disapprove of and never to be unfaithful.

"O people, listen to me earnestly, worship Allah, perform five prayers (salah) daily, fast during Ramadan, and pay your wealth in Zakat. Then, perform Hajj if you can afford it.

All humanity was born from Adam and Eve. Arabs are not better than non-Arabs, and non-Arabs are not better than Arabs. White does not take precedence over black, nor does black take precedence over white.

Learn that all Muslims are brothers to all Muslims and that Muslims form a brotherhood. Nothing that belongs to a fellow Muslim is legitimate to a Muslim unless it is given voluntarily and voluntarily. So do not get yourself wrong.

"Remember that you will appear before Allah one day and answer for your actions. So be careful and do not stray from the path of justice after I leave. No prophet or apostle will appear after me, and no new faith will be born. So, dear ones, think carefully and understand what I tell you. I leave two of them in the Quran and the Sunnah. Follow these, and you will never go astray."

Anyone who hears my words should take them and pass them on to others. O Allah, prove I have delivered your message to your people."

After successfully delivering his last sermon, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) recited the following scriptures, which had just been revealed to him.

"Today, the despair of the unbelievers is about to overwhelm your religion. So do not fear them, but fear Me (Allah)! Therefore, completing and fulfilling my favor for you, it was my pleasure to choose Islam as your religion."

 (Holy Quran, 5:3)

Hadiths on the Prophet's (SAW) Last Sermon

Highlighting the significance of the farewell sermon, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "O People! Verily your lives and wealth are sacred and forbidden upon you until you meet your Lord, as sacred as this day and this month are."

Jabir ibn Abdullah (RA) narrated that while addressing the Muslim Ummah in the middle of the day and at the end of the (Hajj) pilgrimage, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, "O people, your Lord is one, and your father Adam (RA) is one. There is no virtue of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white over Black nor Black over white, except by righteousness. Have I not delivered the message?" They said, "Of course, O Messenger (PBUH) of Allah SWT." The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, "Let the witness inform those who are absent."

Sulaiman bin Amr bin Ahwaz (RA) reported, "My father told me he was present on the Farewell pilgrimage with the Messenger of Allah. He praised and glorified Allah and reminder and exhorted (the people). Then he said: `I enjoin good treatment of women, for they are prisoners with you, and you have no right to treat them otherwise unless they commit clear indecency. If they do that, they forsake them in their beds and hit them without causing injury or leaving a mark.

If they follow you, do not ask them for trouble. You have rights over your wife, and your wife has rights over you. Your rights over your wife are not to allow people you do not like to step on your bedding (furniture) and people you do not like to enter your house. Furthermore, their right over you is that you should treat them kindly concerning their clothing and food. "

Five Lessons from the Farewell Sermon

Also called Khutbatul Wada, the farewell sermon was brought through Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at the start of the day of Arafah until Tasyriq, the center of the day. Being the closing message of steerage for all humankind, the farewell sermon of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) taught us many classes.

Five-lifetime classes that were taught withinside the final sermon are stated below:

Respect and Honour the Rights of Women

Muslim couple togetherIn the final sermon, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) speaks approximately women's rights. Being the introduction of Allah SWT and men's companions in life, girls deserve the same rights as guys and should not be dealt with as their property.

While mentioning that girls deserve the same respect, love, and acceptance as accurate with, the Messenger (PBUH) of Allah SWT said, "O People, it is far real which you have sure rights regarding your girls, however additionally, they have rights over you." The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) later stated, "Remember which you have taken them as your wives, handiest beneath Allah's SWT accept as true with and together with his permission." He added, "I enjoin you to deal with women nicely and be kind to them."

Protect human dignity

Dhul-Hijjah is one of the Islamic calendar's most essential and sacred months. It is the month when Muslims worldwide gather at the Holy Kaaba to perform Tawaf and seek blessings and forgiveness from Allah SWT.

While delivering his final sermon, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) emphasized the value of equality, respect for others, and doing all he could to help those in need.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said in Hadith: Whoever meets his brother's need, Allah will meet his need. Whoever relieves his (Muslim) brother from discomfort, Allah will relieve him from discomfort on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever screens (humiliates) a Muslim, Allah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) later added that to maintain peace in society, people should not trespass or harm one another: "Hurt no one, so that no one may hurt you."

In short, the farewell sermon of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) teaches us not to discriminate against people based on race, character, and color, to have good intentions, and to show care and love for one another.

Hold on to the Teachings of Islam

Islam being the religion of peace, teaches us everything there is to know about living a righteous, happy, and peaceful life. While delivering the last khutbah (farewell sermon), Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), in various instances, reminded us of the importance of the rights of humanity, that he is the last messenger of Allah SWT, and that there would be no prophet after him, and that he is leaving us with the Holy Quran and his Sunnah as the sources of guidance to live a better life.

"O people, no Prophet or Messenger will come after me, and no new faith will be born. Therefore, understand the words which I convey to you. I will leave you with two things. Quran and Sunnah, and if you follow them, you will never get lost."

Therefore, a Muslim is responsible for recognizing Allah's obligations to his SWT, such as believing in Allah's Oneness, fasting during Ramadan, performing Hajj and Umrah, offering Zakat, and praying five times daily.

Do not discriminate against each other:

In this temporary world, people are judged based on skin color, race, religion, caste, and socioeconomic status. This creates an imbalance in society. As humans, we tend to judge people by their physical attributes rather than by what their hearts and souls provide.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW), seeing each person as equal in the eyes of the Almighty, said in his farewell sermon: Arabs are not better than non-Arabs, and non-Arabs are not better than Arabs. Whites are not better than blacks, and blacks are not better than whites, except in piety and good deeds."

Therefore, instead of focusing only on physical characteristics, we must treat everyone equally and allow them to let their hearts out. However at the same time, they listen patiently - all human beings are equal in Allah's eyes.

The farewell sermon of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) is still an integral part of the annual pilgrimage (Hajj) and is intended for Muslims worldwide. Khutbatul Wada reminds Muslims of Islamic teachings. Pray five times a day, help one another, give Zakat and sadaqah, fast during Ramadan, and treat everyone with kindness.
Dua for Parents

The last sermon is that Allah SWT is the creator of the whole universe, that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the last messenger, and that the Holy Quran and the Sunnah have been given to us to teach us how to live righteously.
