The need for beautiful homes isn’t new. It started from the day men started moving in caves from under tree shades. Since then, humans have made steady progress in making their abodes prettier. And one way of making homes beautiful is nice and bright surfaces – be it the floor or the walls. White washing is the simplest and cheapest to do that but that’s last century, now we all have better products thanks to modern technology that gives us more shine and brightness without burdening us with expenses.

Waterborne Epoxy Curing Agents uses water as solvent, which makes it eco-friendly and easy to apply. They are currently available for many different applications, including wood coatings, furniture coatings and plastic coatings. You can cover almost any surface with Waterborne Epoxy. This can be used for making printing inks too.

The threat to environment
Environment protection agencies all over the world were worried about the products that were already in market used for making shiny surfaces. The chemicals that were used were causing untold harm to the eco system and something had to be done. Not all nations have woken to the risks of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) content in industrial and commercial coatings that are still in use in large numbers but there some nations have started putting their foot down and implemented legislative changes to prevent further deterioration – as a result: Waterborne Epoxy has become the first choice for industrial and residential surface coating needs.

Application for best results
Not all surfaces are similar. It must be noted that to get best results out of epoxy applications one must understand the type of surface which needs to be coated. Understanding the nature of the surface is necessary for choosing the right coating material and curing agent for the substrate. There are mainly two types of surfaces – cement and metal.

Cemented surfaces
Cemented surfaces are different in their moisture content, exposure to environment and other factors which are important considerations when coating the surface properly.  Through proper evaluation of options it has been found that liquid based resins are the best for all practical purposes.

Metal Surfaces
Metal surfaces are present everywhere from transportation to many public access systems. Stadiums and hospitals are some that come to mind with lots of metal surfaces, and then there are industrial and residential applications to consider. And when it comes to metal surfaces it has been observed that solid as well as Waterborne Epoxy products are best.
