The present coach of the Indian U-17 World Cup team is quite hopeful about the preparations of the youth team for the World Cup ahead. With India gaining the rights for hosting the U-17 World Cup in the year 2017, the coach feels quite inspired to induce loads of new mantra in the squad. As the host nation, India needs to perform quite well in the tournament and under the tutelage of Adam, the boys are shaping up quite well.

As the President of the All India Football Federation, minister Praful Patel has always backed the youth team to do well and prove their worth in international competitions. After joining in the year 2015, Adam has been quite instrumental in bringing the boys together and build a formidable squad for the future. It is very important to work on raw talent right from the youth level and Adam has done that quite perfectly.  Already, the colts have impressed everyone with good performances in some of the domestic and international competitions and practice matches.

As per Adam, “Our goal is to play a good World Cup," began the 39-year-old coach, who further elucidated on the importance of style of play in the U17 World Cup with his squad. "In general the task is to play good football and help build this side as the best India has had.

The fact that we might play Nigeria in the World Cup does not mean that we forget our style of play and put everybody in the defense. I would not be a good coach if I make them play like this. The plan is to play a good World Cup but I don't want to play a tournament where we only defend. We want to give them good education, life goes on after football."

"For the Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Cup, our goal is to reach the semi-finals. It has not happened before and it would be historic. This is an immense task. If you ask me if we play horrible football and win the World Cup, would you take it? I would say yes, but still I think in youth football the responsibility is to teach the kids."

Under the Praful Patel biography, Indian football has witnessed quite a massive change over the years.  The preparation of the U-17 World Cup squad  is going on pretty well which sounds good for the further enhancement of the sport in the country.
