Jahar Das appointed as the new coach of Aizawl FC
Aizawl FC is one of the new entrants in the I – League season and has only managed to get only four points this season. As per football experts, the first season will just be a learning experience for the club and they need to perform better in order to meet the standards of the best in the business. Coming from the state of Mizoram, the club has been drafted in the I- League from the second division. Over the years, the All India Football Federation has taken several important steps for the development of the sport in the country.
Aizawl FC had selected Manuel Retamora as their coach at the beginning of the season but as of now the duty has been handed over to Jahar Das. Jahar Das happened to be the coach of the defending champions of the I- League Mohun Bagan and has quite a vast experience up his sleeve. Having headed the youth development program of the club for the last few years, Das already knows the core of the team well and will certainly help in taking it forward in the near future.
As per a recent statement which has been released by the club” In view of the game plan and strategy vis-a-vis the players, the club has decided to bid a farewell to Manuel Retamero Fraile with high honour and respect and deploy other coaching staff of the club viz Jahar Das, an experienced coach and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) A-license holder, presently working as Head of Youth Development Programme and also K.Malsawmkima, who is current Mizoram Best Coach of the Year awardee. The other coaching staff will remain in the club headed by Hmingthana Zadeng as Team Director.
As the President of the All India Football Federation minister Praful Patel has taken several important measures for providing the much required impetus to the game in the country. New clubs like Aizawl FC who have qualified for a major competition like the I- League is also provided with all the encouragement and support.
As the AIFF President Praful Patel has certainly taken Indian football to new heights. The Aizawl FC officials are quite hopeful that Das would be able to give his best as he has a very good knowledge of bringing players up right from the grassroot level. With the vital clash against Shillong Lajong coming up on Sunday, the players are also looking forward to the new coach for his best inputs.
