There was this debate raging for many months as to what Microsoft would call its next update. Whether it would be AX7 or AX 2016 had become such a huge matter of discussion that the core point of focus seemed to have been lost somewhere.

Now that Microsoft has put everything to rest by simply calling it AX, it is time to find out what the latest update has to offer to AX users.

The Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP upgrade seems to have packed quite a few punches with this latest offering. Here are some:

1. The Best Enterprise Resource Planning Software offers an entirely new user experience and also supports accelerated decision making. Release 2016 offers a redesigned and touch enabled user experience which pretty much looks and works just like MS Office. It also delivers deep integration between AX, CRM and Office 365 which helps seamlessly share information. Azure Machine Learning powers real time analytics to visualize Power BI Data directly from the ERP. Based on extensive usability analysis, AX is highly visual and matches end user expectations.

2. Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP 2016 is quicker to implement and easier to manage. Sounds clichéd? Well it is, but that’s how it is then. Avatar 2016 introduces enhancements to the MS Dynamics Lifecycle Services enabling turnkey implementations. The system’s improved portability, cloud functionality and architecture ensures a seamless run.

3. Version 2016 of the best enterprise resource planning software offers intelligence galore. There are intuitive workspaces which account for visibility never experienced before. The ERP helps perform tasks such as Billing and AP Processing. Metrics are readily available in a sidebar for reference. Apart from integrating well with Power BI, AX 2016 as mentioned earlier integrates just fine with CRM 2016 and Office 365. It has also been built to draw insights from social and other data sources through Azure Machine Learning. Cortana Integration helps the end user get quick access to actionable human rights from big data.

4. AX 2016 features the HTML-5 based flexible browser interface which means that the ERP can virtually be accessed from almost any device, even an Xbox if the need arises. As an industry guru remarked, this means you do not have to sit on your Office PC to work on it. You can be at home. You can be traveling. AX 2016 features several other continuing architectural advancements such as VARs and ISVs.

5. Last but not least, the ERP continues to support industries such as Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, Public Sector and Professional Services as it has ever done. In fact, the latest introductions make the experience of using it even better. It continues to offer specialized functionalities for Marketing, Sales, Operations, Human Resources, Supply Chain and Inventory etc. to make sure processes are managed well despite all the changes that technology keeps witnessing.

The name might have been sorted out, but the basics remain as robust as ever. Bottom line is that the AX 2016 is the best ERP enterprise segment companies could have asked for and Microsoft has been very careful in introducing features that would matter to them. With the name having been resolved, companies are sure to have fun with this!
