How to fill GATE 2016 Application Form

GATE 2016 Application Form must be filled by the candidate who wants to take GATE 2016 Examination to be held by IISc and seven IITs in a collective effort. The application form will be issued on 1 September in online mode only. The last date to fill the form is 4 October 2016. There is no provision of hardcopy of the application form. The following details will be asked in the application form. A candidate is suggested to keep all the documents handy for quick response.

• Personal – name, father’s name, birth date, category, mother’s name
• Educational qualification – class XII marks, graduation degree program details
• Work experience – organization name, organization experience, and year of joining and leaving (if applicable)
• Exam specific – exam center city
• Scanned images – scanned images of signature, thumb impression of left hand, and photo in correct format and resolution
• Correspondence details – email ID, mobile number, landline number, current and permanent address

How to fill GATE 2016 Application Form?

This is the standard process of filling the application form in online mode on GOAPS portal:

• First, access the official website of GATE 2016 on the computer system. Create an account on the website by providing basic details, as asked.
• Access the email ID provided during registration and for validation of account; click the link mentioned in the email sent by IISc exam portal.
• Now, open the GOAPS and click the link for Application Form of GATE 2016. Enter all the asked details correctly and completely in the fields.
• Upload scanned images of signature, thumb impression, and photograph. Choose the exam centers for appearing in GATE 2016 examination.
• Verify all the fields for possible error and remove, if found any. Proceed to make the fee payment in available modes. Take printout of receipt.

Fee for GATE 2016 Application Form

Without payment of application fee, no candidate will be successfully registered for the examination. The fee is non refundable and non transferable. There are two modes of payment of application fee – online and offline. The former includes payment via debit card, credit card, and net banking. The latter includes e-Challan. If payment is made through challan, transaction details must be updated in the GATE 2016 Application Form. For general male candidates, the fee is Rs.1500 and for women, SC, ST, PwD candidates, the fee is Rs.750. Receipt of payment must be retained till the final selections are made.
