All Information about GATE 2018
The GATE Exam will be governed jointly by IISc and seven IITs. The score of GATE 2018 is also a gateway for becoming eligible for recruitment in PSUs (NTPC, BHEL, SIL, ONGC, IOC, and NHPC). The exam is likely to commence in the 3rd week of January 2017 and will end in the 2nd week of February 2017.

- Release of official brochure of the exam – July 04, 2017
- Online application process commences – September 1, 2017
- Online application process ends – October 05, 2017
- Release of online admit card – November 17, 2017
- Conduction of exam – February 3, 4, 10 & 11, 2018
- Declaration of result – March 17, 2018
GATE 2018 Eligibility Criteria
A candidate who has completed bachelor degree (or equivalent) in engineering or technology or master degree in Science/ Mathematics/ Computer Applications/ Statistics can apply for the examination. Those who are appearing in the final year degree exam can apply as well provided that they complete the degree before the deadline.
GATE Application Form
The process of GATE Application Form will be completely online. Candidates have to undertake the application process on a dedicated portal called as GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System). The form submission process comprises of multiple steps which include – online registration, filling the online application form, uploading of necessary documents, and payment of fee in available modes. The one who completes all the steps successfully will be issued an admit card and allowed to appear in GATE 2018.
GATE 2018 Admit Card
GATE Admit card will be required to bring at the exam hall to gain entry and take the exam. In absence of the admit card, permission to take the exam will not be granted. It can be downloaded by accessing the GOAPS, logging into the account, and clicking the relevant link. Once it is downloaded, printout of the same must be taken on A4 sheet. Exam and admission officials will demand admit card at various stages hence it must be kept in best condition till the final allotments are done.
GATE 2018 Exam Pattern
The exam will be conducted online where candidates have to mark their responses using mouse and keyboard. There will be a single question paper which must be solved in duration of 3 hours. Questions will be of multiple choice and/ or numerical type. A total of 65 questions carrying 100 marks will be asked in the examination.
