COMEDK 2016 can be attempted by all those candidates who are desirous of seeking admissions to various private unaided engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka. COMEDK or the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka conducts an Under Graduate Entrance Test for admissions to engineering degree courses annually every year. The entrance test is the basis for admissions to approximately 150 engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka. The test will be computer based and can be attempted by any candidate who has passed the 10+2 or 2nd PUC Examination held under the direction of any recognized University or Board.

Candidates who intend on appearing for the entrance test are advised to make a thorough review of the exam pattern in order to get an idea of the question types, the duration of the exam and the marking criteria etc. In this article, we have elaborated on the COMEDK 2016 Exam Pattern while also giving the list of the test centers across which the entrance exam will be conducted. Exam Pattern of COMEDK 2016

Candidates preparing for the COMEDK Entrance Exam should know that understanding the pattern of the examination and preparing in accordance with the same is of utmost importance. The test will comprise of two papers-one paper will have a combination of questions from the subjects of Physics and Chemistry while the second paper will comprise of questions from the subject of Mathematics. The entrance test has been primarily designed to assess a candidate’s aptitude in the aforesaid subjects while also evaluating his/her knowledge of various basic concepts and theories in the given science subjects. Candidates can read through the following pointers to find out more about the format of COMEDK 2016:

  • The COMEDK Exam for B.E courses will comprise of a total of 180 questions. As per the existing pattern of the entrance examination, there will be 60 questions from each subject that is covered in the entrance examination viz., Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • In Paper 1 of COMEDK 2016, wherein candidates will have to attempt questions from the subjects of Physics and Chemistry a time duration of two hours will be allowed to complete the paper. For Paper 2 on the other hand, candidates will be given only a duration of one hour.
  • The questions of the entrance test will correspond to the syllabus that has been prescribed for Class 12/2nd PUC.
  • Candidates appearing for the entrance test will have to mark their answers on an OMR answer sheet (Optical Mark Reader).
  • Each correct answer of the COMEDK Entrance Exam will score one mark.
  • Candidates will not be penalized for wrong answers. However, in case any candidate marks multiple answers/responses for any particular question then he/she will not be awarded any marks either.

COMEDK is a state level entrance examination and will be conducted across districts of the state of Karnataka only. The following are some of the districts across which test centers of COMEDK will be set up:
