Does anyone use the Biz Center and Exchange anymore?

Just curious if anyone votes on other folks' ABCs or not. I have had Biz Exchange Credits sitting there not doing anything. I have added my ABC to the mix, but I do not get any votes or scores. I do vote, did last night. Does anyone use this feature anymore? The majority of the ABCs circulating were empty or barely put together. Was kind of sad that many weren't using a power tool - their Apsense Business Center!

I like Eric's idea of rewarding free credits after a number of votes. I think this could also be expanded as a monthly thing, You vote a certain number of times a month and get a handfull of credits. Or better yet maybe earn cash! The cash might be generated from ad sales to pay for it. Just a thought.

Ahhh, I didn't realize there were free credits to the BCE. I just wish mine would be seen - my BCE credits go up, but never go down.

I try to rate at least 5-10 at least once a day. If I have more time, then I do more.

I try and visit the BCE websites and rate them at least once a week but sometimes I don't get to it! Last time I was surprised that there were many I hadn't seen before and if you select a category you will see others that you haven't rated... you can always re-rate to reflect an improvement they've made to their site or maybe it looks better to you now?

I think the simple solution would be to not give 100 free credits. Then members would have to vote to get their site seen.

I found this out at a traffic exchange i used to run. If i gave free credits away no one would surf. they would just use the free credits and the account would lay idle.

The problem is, if everyone just uses the free credits, no one surfs / votes, so everything stands still.

I don't think there would be too much backlash if the free credits were taken away. Perhaps

James,
In your short cuts click on "Sell My Ads by User". If you want your banner to appear in your groups, click on "My group ads" then click on edit my ads. Then select banner. Then just put in the information asked for and you will be all set. Lynn

Good question BarbE.

And I have another one.
How do you put the banner for your OBA biz there. I'd like to put my own OBA biz banner on my group. I 'spect I'll discover eventually!

I, too, keep filling in the Business Industry selections and they keep disappearing. I guess it's supposed to be a big secret! *chuckles* I'll try again.

Lynn, do you know why those Business Industries keep disappearing? Everytime I edit my ABC, I update the Industries, but they are always blank the next time I edit.

Barbara,
I just went and looked at your business center. You haven't chosen any business industries to be listed in. Lynn

Since you earn exchange credits for viewing other members sites. Having a small group of voters would defeat this. I have noticed a definite increase in the amount of business centers activated in the last few days. So voting should increase also. Apsense starts everyone out with business credits , but they must start viewing other business centers in order to keep being seen in the exchange. It is a great give and take feature. Lynn

Thank you everyone for your insight on the BCE.

I tend to judge based on how much content and effort went into making their ABC.

Did they add pictures, did they add content to the Products & Services section and the Affiliate Section (could be another place for them to describe their program/business if they are not affiliated with any other), did they take the time to describe their product/services/business. Things like that.

Vacant lots - excellent description. The ABC is prime real e

I don't spend much time viewing sites anymore, mainly because they are all the same ones I have already voted on. I still visit member's ABCs, but I do it outside of the BCE... when I find a post interesting I visit the ABC and profile to learn more about the poster. When I get a contact request etc.

Looking foward to the "games" Wincer speaks of!

There are also some people who don't like being "Judge and Jury" of other people's sites. I find it difficult to judge other people's work and do it fairly. Is their work really good but just not to my taste? Do I dislike what it is they're trying to sell but they actually have a great website? Am I really being fair? I have a "pet peeve" about a site with incorrect spelling. It really turns me off. If your website is that important to you, proof read it before you publish it. Have a fri

Biz Exchange helps you to learn more about others, see what business they are working on. Anyway, Apsense will have more interesting "games" for apsensers to communicate with other people, make more friends. (no matter for your business).

Hi Gary,

It makes a lot of sense when you consider voting is not impartial.

I have seen sites with just one sentence on the home page with higher scores than sites where the owners have made some effort to put some content on them.

I have tried contacting BC owners but often never get a response to my contact request. The help is available from not only myself but many active members but we cant force it on those that dont want it.

Hi Eric,

Personally I think it has stopped because there are too many "Vacant Lots" as i referred to them in my post.

I see now what you mean and it could well be a combination of both factors.

I see some short paragraphs that get high votes and some long ones that get low votes. Doesn't make sense to me.

Hi Barbara,

I hava also noticed this. I have also noticed that the most votes any BC in the Top Business Center list has is 48.

This indicates there is only a small core of members that do use it.
I have also seen many comments about the number of sites with no content that are in rotation and questions about ho can a person cast a vote for a site without having to go through all the sites and see these vacant sites.

To me its like going to a city on a site seeing tour and they tak
