Hi, There seems to be alot of questions about the new changes here at apsense. So here is a very brief explanation. When the new blog categories came out..We recognized there was no place for everyday blogs...so we came up with the life in general category. I have also read many comments about the blog categories being all advertising and no content, there is a classifieds section for ads. The rest is for learning and for sharing content in those different areas. Also they will be trying to come up with something that will keep the blogs in the proper categories. The spam reporting is being done away with. We will be using the top and drop method for all content here at apsense. This will be explained further in this weeks newsletter. Lynn

Hi everyone,

Lots of changes have taken place on APSense in the last few weeks. Due to a health problem with my back & subsequent problems with my legs,I haven't been very active lately so all of your comments are helping me catch up.

I miss being here! :-)

I just tested by signing up for a new account (not sure how to delete it - theres no "delete account" link.

That account was switched off.

I have owned a few Traffic exchanges, Article Directories, Content management systems etc, and they admins usually have a bulk change in the admin area. "Switched on or Switched off"...

Anyway... better things to do than worry about this stuff...

Thanks BJ...

Eric.

Hi Eric,

There may have been a few slip through the cracks as they say, but judging by the number of sites in rotation on the first day it was a small minority.

Have you noticed that the number of sites with no content is on the increase which can only mean they are being activated by the BC owner.

Thanks Lynn,

I remember the Topic, i even contributed to it. But my ABC was switched on. It always has been. I haven't turned it on or off since i have been here.

Just one of those things i guess....

Fair enough, but that doesn't explain why mine was already activated...

All bc's were set on not published... that is why at the start there were so few business centers in the exchange. Lynn

Love the place, but am getting really bored with all the voting and ranking. It's like being back at school. or playing online games now! lol

So I give up on this one

I didn't publish my ABC to the exchange... it was already activated when it started. If ABC's were not automatically activated there would most likely be a lot less sites with absolutely NO content in the Exchange.

I've done around 600 votes at the exchange and 30% of those sites would have no content at all (not even a profile picture).

I could be wrong but it would seem to me that all ABC's were set to active when the Exchange went live.

With regards to writing why you voted the way

Members do have to publish their business centers to the exchange. This is not done for them. As far as limiting the viewing of exchanges to only those who have theirs active...that would stop all guest viewing. And the idea of having to write why you voted the way you did, most likely will not happen. Its kind of like the top and drop feature in the fact that these are kept private so there are no "paybacks" for a lack of a better word. Lynn

I posted this in another topic but after doing so realised it was more relevant to this thread:

I have been thinking about the BCE voting system a lot in the last few days and i have a few considerations...

1. Would it be possible to reset "all" business centres to OFF for the business exchange and then have members activate them ONLY if they want their BC shown in the Exchange - this wouldn't have to effect current votes/points since members have the opportunity to reset them already.

Shouldn't Blog ranking be cumulative?

You write a Blog article... it's there when first submitted. you get a few reads. then? what keeps others coming back unless it doesn't have a cumulative
top it? like visitor count? like recommendation?

just my $0.02

I'm not one to be concerned about what my articles get ranked at. I would prefer to keep doing what i have always done and write to help others with their businesses.

The only time i will make a statement about a personal issue in relation to the ratings system is when there is a possibility of a scripting error.

Having said that - I was checking my blogs to see which of my articles i could publish next and i noticed one of them had a "TOP of 3". I didn't think anything of it until i got b

Blog Network Community

OOOOOOOOK, Guys,

Since this has become a PPC site to get views, I have decided to up my ante.

I am offering $.10 for tops on my Blogs; $.20 on my Biz Ctr and for my Bulletins I am prepared to go $.30.

This offer will be terminated with drops in 5 minutes, so hurry, lol.

Well, they don't call me MAXFunny for nothing.

Life is a Journey - Enjoy the ride!

PS> Hey Jenny, Your radical idea sounds more rational than any other I have read so far - see you at the top.

I for one think that is a brilliant idea Jenny! The APSense Group is intended to be the "help" page - introduction to the community etc, and I have to agree, it really shouldn't be taking up the majority of the first page under Groups. It really ought to be in a category all its own - perhaps in the navigation bar?

Hi folks,

Ihave just had an idea! (dive under the bed! lol)

I think that the ApSense Group should be taken out of all the ratings and topping and dropping and points systems. It is the Group that belongs to all of us, is there to keep us informed about the Community and is internal.

It is the one we all belong to and, after watching the development of ApSense, I think this Group should be on the front page of everything as the Community's Group and not just one more Group of many.

They were hard to miss...my guess is they put it back to when they started this as there was more abuse than just the hair removal ads. Lynn

Karen,
Please keep in mind that this is a new system, and we are in day 1 of it. Also the front page of the group posts has been fixed. Lynn
