The Reasons to DROP - Conclusions

Being in business for over 20 years, I like to help groups with my humble knowledge on marketing. What I usually do is to post an article to more than one group with that specific topic, in order to contribute with content to my joined groups. Is it ok with Apsense rules posting the same content on more groups? I’m not sure but if you belong to more than one group, why do not share your content that might help people from all those groups? Can someone clear this aspect? Thanks. Back to my issue, I see a phenomenon when I post a new subject in a specific group I’ve joined. People from one group rate it as TOP few times, while in another group the same article was dropped once. Why this happens? Few reasons to meditate and see if someone find him/herself there: - Freedom of expression, used or understood in bad way - The competition doesn’t like you, not the content - The content requires higher level of knowledge in that domain, so the visitor gets angry… - You just play with the buttons and don’t care about author’s effort… - The topic is different from group’s topic (this could be an objective reason). I couldn’t find more that one objective reason to drop someone’s good work even if it’s competing with my work… If you do, please let me know! All the above-mentioned reasons are subjective, so why to drop? I just can't imagine what kind of brain these people have? If I don't like something (for example I don’t like so many ads published in wrong places), I just leave that page but don't drop. When I see my so-called “competition” publishing good articles I TOP them not drop! What nasty people don’t understand is that social networking is not based on “traditional” competition but on valuing community and people, help each other growing, friendly attitude, positive criticism and so on. I’d like our community growing and keeping here all those who understand and know the value of this great business oriented social networking community named Apsense. Saying this, believe me, I will TOP all your good content and even will help other to write good quality content. For good quality copywriting I will recommend you to hire a paid consultant or coach, but for quality content you can count on me, and if you are a sociable Apsenser I wont charge you for that. What would you like to see? Toppers or Droppers? Waiting to find out your frank and honest opinion. Thanks.

Hi Thea,

Thank you for responding as it does directly concern you.
I know very well if you felt it was unjust you would have contacted me directly.
I also know that you know that these actions are not take with any malace afore thought.

As for marking the APSense Group I think It would affect globally as the pages are built around a template that is standard for all groups as far as I see.

It has taken me a long time but I am now in the habit of clicking in the APSense Express an

Adding Wings To Our Unique Life Journey!

I'm not at all upset by my post being clicked as unrelated comment.

It was a simple error on my part, as I forgot to scroll to the top and check if I was at an Apsense group posting. Darn!

Sorry Bill et al., I was simply injecting a little humor and got carried away... :)
I recognize the mistake I made and who knows, one day I'll make that same mistake again!

Is there something that Apsense can do to their group's posts that identifies them clearly as an Alsense group subject? E.g. a red bo

Hi Eric,

I am not complaining about the work load, considering we have well over 13000 members it is very light. What I am having a go about is the constant, second guessing, and the other things I already mentioned
however your offer is noted.

It is very easy to sort out a disagreement. If the person concerned (not third parties) don't agreed with an action all they have to do is contact us and we will discuss it. If we reach an impass then we can escalate it to management by mutual ag

Hey Bj,

As i have mentioned before, I would happily put my hand up to assist with moderating. I moderate at several forums so it's not new to me.

It would also help having another moderator down south with time differences and all... When you guys sleep we are usually starting our day...

Hi eric,

Well its time the air was cleared. We took on the job of admins knowing full well it could possibly damage us, and it has.

We have had our BC's deliberatly voted down, we have had posts made all over the place attacking us, admittedly not by name, but you would have not only had to be deaf dumd and blind but also dead and buried not to know who was being referred to.

So why do we do it?

We do it because we enjoy helping people.
We do it because despite the crap we have t

lol... yep i get it Bj, I always have.

I guess i tend to write in a way that explains things to others, by asking a question... << (Like that sentence).

My original touch on this subject was in reply to Karens response about a couple of dropped posts.

Don't take my Aussie approach too seriously Bj... ;o)

I am glad you finally understand Eric.
you have got it at last

If one is allowed then that is exactly what will happen and then the spam will start.

I hope others finally understand as well because to be honest i am getting rather tired of the nasty little digs from certain people.

We bust our butts to help people and when we impliment the rules we get nothing but bitched at with snide remarks

Yep i get that Bj, But it probably won't be "and for all", it's bound to come up again, as new people join.

I guess without putting a cap that says "all" URL's it's too easy for one member to say "he/she posted their URL why can't I ?" and this would cause every reply to be come an advertisement in one way or another.

So it's logical to say "No" URL's period!

To make it clear once and for all.

No advertising or urls except that go to the apsense FAQ or How it works, etc pages
and No soliciting to vist your groups blogs sites in the body of posts in the apsense group.

I guess its up to the group owner to decide what they allow in their groups. The APsense guidlines are "No URL's" (in main posts or reply's) my guess is someone flagged Thea's reply because of that - not sure why though, its not an affiliate link... but thats beside the point.

Not sure on Coach Steve's.

I see no good reason to drop - ever... nor do I see a good reason why Coach Steve and Thea's contributions to this thread were tagged as unrelated. I would NEVER use the drop it button, and ONLY click the unrelated button if the post was a blatent ad. IMHO to do otherwise is petty and serves no purpose.

Hi San,

Under the top it button you will notice it says "worth reading?"

In other words if you think the article rates merrit and should be read by more then you click the "top it"

If you find it ok but nothing special then just leave it as is.

The drop it is a major bone of contention. as you have already no doubt read in the many posts that there have been on this subject in the past.

I have commented a number of times on duplicate posting. As a newbie and someone who really just plays at this sort of thing, I don't knw if it's right or wrong, good or bad. But I do know that, as Bj has pointed out, you get immune to it, and it can be really annoying when you open your express to find 6 messages all identical.
With regard to 'topping' or 'dropping'. I thought you topped something if you had something better to add to it, not just becuase you thought it was good. Hadn't really

Hi Guys

I''m rebelling a little about the topping - thank heavens the dropping is a thing of the past. It is the old story - we are voiting without accountability.

I have always doubted the ability of many people to be TOTALLY objective when making htse judgements. We are humans and regrettably personal likes and dislikes cr4eep in whether we realise it or not!!!!.

So I am all for topping everything good as often as we can and just passing by the ones we dont like with no comments. It

Dear Teodor;

Great post, I don'1 think duplicate posts are a problem especially if they are quality material. Not a whole lot of new things have been said in the last few hundred years, it's just been re-packaged.

So, if you think about it, we keep seeing the same material over and over. That is a good thing, because until we are actually ready to "do something different” to get a new result we should have the material in our face as much as possible. Also, it matters a great de
