Google Adsense...

I have noticed a lot of ABC's with Google Adsense on them. Google is wary of sites that "Artificially inflate" impressions, to the point that you (individual ABC owners) may have your Google account frozen or deleted. The Business Centre Exchange could be classified as Artificial inflation of exposures to google. Eric.

Its more a matter of giving the Paying Advertiser value for money. Thats the idea of the system - Ads are targeted to site content.

As an example - A site for Organic Puppy food has Google Adsense ads on the page, these ads are for other related dog and pup sites. The owner of the site wants to increase his Alexa ranking so uses Traffic exchange to keep his traffic flowing, most TE users are Business Builders, Marketers etc, and while a small handful may be interested in the product the viewe

Thanks for the explanation Eric. I am kind of surprised the google penalizes you from gaining traffic through traffic exchanges.

Hey Karen,

A visitor must get to the site with Genuine interest in the product, service or membership

Google also registers impressions of ads. To get an average page impression vs click ratio. If multiple page views without clicks are found it usually shows a page was visited without "Genuine Interest".

This is for the benefit of the advertiser so they gain realistic statistics of how their ads are doing.

I'm the first to admit that I don't know much about Adwords, but I'm wondering how the BCE would be considered artificial? Don't you get paid if people click on the google ads, or is it for visitors to the page? And if a visitor to your site clicks on a google ad, why would that be artificial?

Inquiring minds... LOL

Hi Eric,

You are 100% correct and anyone that has placed Google adsence on their abc should either remove them or remove the ABC from the Business Exchange immediatly.

The reason is that by clicking on the vote button the viewer is earning points. They are being rewarded for their action of looking at the site and casting a vote and /or a review. This is not an acceptable practice by Google as many have found out to their dismay.

Quiet possibly...

For clarity - from googles programme policies ---

Invalid Clicks and Impressions:
Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interest. Any method that artificially generates clicks or impressions on your Google ads is strictly prohibited. These prohibited methods include but are not limited to repeated manual clicks or impressions, using robots, automated click and impression generating tools, third-party services that generate clicks or impressions such as paid

Hi, Eric
Business Centre Exchange is much different from other Traffic Exchange program.

In BCE, Everyone has to look through others ABC before he rates it.

So I don't think it could be classified as Artificial inflation.
