I find this discussion interesting and to those following it, please accept my apology for my previous comment. I tried to be quirkie, but honestly it's just plain stupid!! Also, a few things happened recently that affected me, one of which was the branding issue and which came up three times during three separate discussions. Then I met someone in person, whose face is plastered all over the internet, but as someone twenty years younger than reality and I even though I love the person, I hated
persons with fake photos are not to many on APSense. Actually many freshmen don't know how to upload a photo. Many anti-social and vagabonds have made their fake ID's on Facebook an Myspace. Such people sometimes wander into the territory of APSense. But after some time they realize that its users are much more aware and responsile than other sites and can not be taken in by their trickery, they automatically become inactive. You can easily spot these [ersons with lofty user names and no or subs
@Jeff Irick, you're right, how could we know? The day it becomes important is if you meet someone in person, after meeting him/her online on a site such as APSense.
APSense is a business social network. Everything we do brands ourselves. So, in my opinion, it's better to use a real picture. It becomes even more important if you start doing live videos. If you used fake pictures for years, it could be awkward.
I know this sounds perhaps a bit off the cuff, but I received your invitation and just wonder how and where do we meet in terms of what I do and your focus?? Did you have a special reason to have sent me the invitation or are you just inviting every sexy looking dude on this site??
I have enough Honor Points to see when people upload profile pictures. I accept company logos if it seems genuine, for example American Environmental just above me here.
Drawings, animals, nature, dollar signs, in short, anything that is clearly not a profile picture, I always refuse it.
Sometimes, like Salim says, the picture is very small, it's hard to decide.
I accept sexy pictures of girls for a simple reason: I show the profile account to Wincer Song, the owner of APSense. If it's clear
I think that dishonest and impersonators are not much in numbers. Large number of subscribers either do not have a proper photo, or know not the method to upload it.
Some people just want to hide behind the scenes. Some like being anonymous. Some don't have a means to take a photograph. Some just are uncomfortable with their physical appearance. I guess the are many reasons.
To be honest, you can upload any picture you want. Other than pics that are blatantly fake, how is management going to know? My picture could easily be a picture of my brother or a friend or something I grabbed off the net. How would you know? It isn't - that really is me but it could easily not be and no-one would know.
I have my own picture for my profile. I can understand people putting their kids or pets on there, though, because it shows that they are really human with families. I sometimes like to put up a picture of my horse that I no longer have. But when they put fake pictures on, or pictures of people that were taken from the internet, then it can make you wonder if they are up to some scam.
i do reject most of the fake pictures but as faii acy said sometimes it hard to know for sure if the picture is fake or not because it is too small. i think wincer should create an that when we hover over the pic it zooms out

@Joe Henning, how could the girls know you are sexy, since you use a Lee Van Cleef pic?

Honest people have nothing to hide..rather it is the dishonest folks..those probably engaged in a scam that love to hide their identity.
