Mike, the smart and gifted are doing things to help others...the problem is we hear more doom and gloom stories instead of those that uplift and inspire.
I would start something that would allow people in the same situation as me a way to connect and share what we have or trade for what we don't. Sometimes, help is right around the corner. All you have to do is look.
Ted, if we have the faith of a mustard seed...I think we are in those circumstances just have yet to believe it can happen. I found out that a person who don't know no better doesn't carry pride,shame or doubt to stop him/her. I'm getting less smart as I see and feel pain of others.

If one is spiritually rich then there is a collection of something...spirits...but when people starve, when a mom has no shelter for her kids or when I not speak up on the sex slaves and the abuse of women my spiritual riches deplete.

In a way, yes. There will always be a class of poor people, but I'm talking about the spirit of a person. Take the slaves pre civil war era, they had no money therefore considered poor however the spirit could be rich.
