while it is true that people have always had businesses long before the internet, it is also true that the internet facilitated ways of advertising and make businesses run...i find things ways easier with the use of the internet...you have more tools to spread your wings:)

Definitely the old marketing methods... Offline Business... Harry, I guess the question should be .. what would we do after the internet ends... I believe that moving a business from online to offline is not that tough ... but imagine a life without internet ... oh.. atleast I can't or may be it will take me some time to come out of the grief ... lol

Or passing business cards, post cards and leaving them around businesses, posting flyers, newspaper ads and deliver them Paul Revere style...
Or you can do it Paris Hilton style and put your logo all over yourself
Or you can put them on things like pens, paper, mugs, cups, buttons, pins, etc...I think you got the idea that you can brand yourself on any surface.
One cool place I think people forget to advertise is the bathroom. But seriously though, would like to go with a picture of Joe/Jane

I must admit I hesitated writing my comment knowing what Lisa wrote in the past few days about a site I won't name here to keep this thread in good spirits. I didn't want to appear like turning the knife in the wound

Philippe, I dare to warn you, they call Lisa the brain and that's the short version! Ok, I call her the brain but that is besides the point, she does this off the top of her head.

What nice pun - stunned...indeed, thanks for sharing Philippe! In the urban dictionary..there are 5 definitions for pigeon:
1.
Female who goes out looking for dates
by false advertising. Then they try to get them to do something ill mannered like pay for their bills.

Facts: Bird is slang for woman in other countries.
2. A small feathered creature that eats french fries and like to defacate ontop of people, cars, important things. A subspecies of bird. Also known as the feathered rat or gutte

well, I'm not sure if it could mean the same thing in English, but in French, sometimes we say "pigeons" to mean people who got caught in scams.

I have been a pigeon once 2 years ago :)
