How do you find new contacts?

Bruce, you are right. I use skype for business. I don't put anything out without having my skype ID on it. I get 4 to 5 new people asking to be added to my skype contacts daily. I talk to tons everyday all around the world.

@ Bruce..Fab comment, and its great advice. I tend to agree with Joe though and use both approaches in list building. To me the idea is part of a full marketing strategy to attract prospects into your sales funnel (if your into marketing for profit online) If you manage both the best result of course is an opt-in directly to your E-mail list...that list includes and supplies pre-quallified confirmed interested people from any walk of life. Your most powerful list of all.

@ Bruce - I completely agree. Connections are people who you can end up doing business with. I personally use both approaches to find and locate the people who wish to do business with me. I receive social requests to add them to my contact list and usually it is accompanied by their link. Contact requests I receive from people using this approach I will not release my contact information. I am going to give a little piece of advice that may not be very popular, but experience has shown me despite the claims otherwise... works every time. You do not need to build a contact list. Despite all the people trying to do this its actually a backwards way of marketing. Rather you need a list of contacts and there is a big difference.

A contact list is a list of email addresses you have permission to contact. Yipee. Its a numbers game. Numbers games are very cliche and vastly over rated.

I use attraction marketing.

I tend to offer free information via ebooks, reports etc. I also use direct mail and other resources however, I own both on and offline businesses.

Showing up every day is MANDATORY. People can't find you if your links are broken, you don't check your emails, and you don't help others.
Stay on top and show up every day.

You just need to be active and voila you get lots of contacts from your email account

@Gary "Then Advertise consistently!" Absolutely, the list is the key for sure, and of course automating the whole process of presentation. Getting traffic daily is vital and I think a of people struggle with that part of their online marketing efforts. You can never get enough that's for sure.

Get yourself a good autoresponder program like Get Response or AWeber ,etc...there are many good ones and a good landing page with an opt-in box. Choose some reputable safelists and upgrade with them so you don't kill yourself reading 100's of emails everyday. Then Advertise consistently!

I use anything as a lead capture page lol! Speaking of which, did you know you can add a lead capture form into those Page Tours? You could use it to give a page tour of your ELPP! :-)

Build a Killer landing page (using for example Easy Landing Page Pro) and send traffic with best safe lists, traffic excange, or pay Per click, put classified ad on free websites(craig list) or Usafreads for ex.

There is something important in the pipelines of google...and that is going to revolve around the power of "Social Networks" we could see this as part of the Algorithm changes yet to come. Social Community involvement has always helped build on your personal branding...yet bad information you supply along with your outbound links will cripple you in the eyes of google.
