Thoughts are Things

Yes I believe that we can love others as we love ourselves but I also believe that first we have to learn to love ourselves. Loving ourselves will open us to what it is to love and with this understanding we can then reach our with love and compassion to others in a more genuine and understanding way.

I'm Catholic, so my official answer is:

1. Love God

2. Let's love each other

according to what Jesus said.

Now, my real answer is, without the Lord's help, I can't love others as much as He wants me to

Yes, it is quite possible to others as you love yourself. I depends on where you are in life, how you view life and people and what is important to you right now. You have to be honest with yourself and move on from there. Since life is a journey it takes time to get to that place where you can love others as yourself.

Yes we can love others as well if we love ourselves. It all varies from human to human.

Depends on the situation and attitude. If you are a humanitarian then it is possible to love others as we love ourselves.

Yes and No! Both are true. A mother who's ready to give her life for her child, a couple who really love each-other. And yes, there are fanatics that love others more then themselves. The "No" answer is much simpler and some answers can be read above my comment.

Biblically, yes. Literary, you can't love anyone until you understands that you can't love everyone. It is your choice and it must comes from deep within after in depth scrutiny and satisfaction.

Hello.
Definitively no, because oneself is priority more important that other, example, if you are in some danger, you need get security then after you can give some help to other but to run a risk trying to help other is only despair
