Sri Rama Navami dos & don’ts
Rama is the
seventh incarnation of Vishnu, who is the protector of Dharma on earth. His
birth and life teach us how to lead our life without breaking Dharma. This
greatest noble soul was ideal to everyone from his parents to siblings, wife,
and sons. Rama is always an inspiration to all whose principles insist on
honesty and truthfulness. He never lost his patience anywhere and always knew
how to love and value others, even in tough times. The divine being was never
harsh to anybody, even his stepmother Kaikeyi who was the reason for his exile.
Due to these reasons, only people called him "Maryada Purshottam."
Rama was born
in the Punarvasu star, which coincides with the ninth waning moon in Phalguna
Month. This day is celebrated as Sri Rama
Navami honoring the birth of Sri Rama, who taught about Dharma. He is a
great example of the human form of Dharma. He had always insisted humanity to
travel on the path of Dharma. Hindu people across the globe worship and
celebrate Rama Navami to get blessed
by clear thinking and the abundance of humanity. His blessings wipe all our
mental chaos; make us lead a perfect life on earth. He always teaches his
devotees about doing good deeds, their importance, and their results.

Righteousness: Rama always followed
walking on the right path abiding by the right merits. So being virtuous on the
day helps his devotees to receive his grace and blessings.

Honesty: Since Rama is a classic
example of honesty, he wants his devotees to be honest with their families and
the people around them.

Vedic scripts: Rama ardently followed
Vedic scripts and Shastras as they taught people the ideal way of living.

Support family: Rama was very kind
towards people despite his tough times. So, he expects the same features from
his devotees to show love, courtesy, and gratitude toward their parents,
siblings, and society. Always come forward to help underprivileged people and

Ruling senses: Controlling senses is
essential in every human. Rama followed it throughout his life; even now, it is
spoken out. He never had any opposition to his exile; he was always loyal to
his wife and never looked upon any other woman. He never argued against his
opponents and had good thoughts about King Ravana before commencing the war.

Controlling the mind is a challenging
job. Our thoughts fly like a bird. Chanting Rama Namam and participating in the
Rama Navami Pooja enable us to
remember Rama, his characters, and his lifestyle. So, do not leave your mind
out of control any day, especially on this divine occasion.

In his life, Rama never went against
humanitarian deeds. He never neglected or disrespected his parents and their
words. He was kind toward animals, birds, and even to nature besides mankind.
As humans, practicing his way helps to attain spiritual bliss and blessings.

Do not take revenge on anyone. The
feeling of revenge or hatred is not advisable and should be curtailed. Rama's
virtuous life with meaningful thoughts is to be listened to and applied by the
mankind of today's era.

Do not be cruel to any living beings
on earth because Rama was very kind towards all creatures. He was graceful
towards every living creature that assisted Rama in finding Sita. From the
giant Jatayu to a simple squirrel, every creature was intimate with the man of
Perfection, Rama.
