Significance of Ashada Navaratri
Ashada Navratri generally falls between June and July every year. It is
also known as Ashada Gupt Navratri, a lesser-known Navratri observed during
Ashada Shukla Paksha Tithi. It is of high importance to Tantriks and Sadhaks.
They dedicatedly worship all nine days and nine nights to receive the immense
blessings of the sacred divine feminine.
Devotees perform various spiritual practices, including the Nav Durga
Sadhana, during these nine days. They firmly believe performing this Sadhana
during the Ashada Navratri can bestow manifold blessings. This period
significantly purifies and rejuvenates the followers' minds and bodies.
Devotees engage in intense spiritual practices during this time. The Ashada
Navaratri festival allows individuals to grow deeper in their connection with
the divine and seek inner transformation.
During Ashada Navaratri or Gupt Navaratri, devotees have a unique
celebration of Durga on nine nights. 'Gupt' means secretive or hidden. Hence,
during the occasion, Sadhaks perform secretive tantric rituals to obtain
Durga's graceful blessings. 'Gupt' also denotes the Gupta Empire who first
celebrated Gupt Navaratri for the deity.
Ashada Navaratri is an ideal time to propitiate Durga and dispense
internal and external negativities that hinder one's progress and success. It
is also an auspicious time to attain wealth and wisdom blessings.
Ashada Navaratri, or Gupt Navratri, is also the propitious period for
worshiping Varahi. She is the boar-faced incarnation of Durga and the consort
of Varaha. Varahi, a potent and compassionate divine form, fulfills the prayers
of her devotees and grants an abundance of prosperity. Varahi is also a form of
Lakshmi. Varahi embodies courage, bravery, and victory, granting boons as
Supreme Mother.
