Productive Albion Online gaming time
I'm finding my self agreeing with this. I my self don't have as much time as others at the moment and I'm finding too much time is being spent travelling instead of enjoying other content. I can see the arguments against fast travel but like ballzman stated. Some don't have the luxury of an hours travel and others like to cut tedious aspects out of games that involve excessive grinding. This game is certainly guilty of that. I've actually stopped playing much since I found out about the upcoming wipe. I don't want to grind again.
I think ESO did this correctly. Fast travel points don't ruin the game as long as they can't be used to escape Albion Online Power Leveling.I don't know. I think prohibitive costs create the same effect without removing the possibility completely. I know my clan is now very centralized because of the raised costs and we have no plans to move. Fast travel is becoming uncommon for anything but moving to market hubs and then transporting goods on foot.
That said localized markets created by removal of fast travel would maybe thrive more and make trading a more profitable "profession". It would also dramatically localize guild conflicts making zerging less potent and moving goods and food potentially more dangerous. I wouldn't be displeased with either decision I guess.
