IAS 2016 - Check Details
IAS 2016- Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will be conducting the most prestigious of all the entrance examinations i.e. the Indian Administrative Services Examination to select the able candidates to run the administrative mechanism of the country in the month of August 2016. The notification cum application form the current year recruitment has been uploaded on the official website of UPSC from 23rd April 2016. The Application process has started and so has the hustle and bustle for the new course. Lakhs of candidates will be vying for the 1100 seats to be able to occupy the top of the decision making body. IAS 2016: Important dates
Following are the important dates as per the IAS 2016 is concerned:
- Date of release of Notification cum Application form for IAS 2016– 23rd April 2016
- Last date to fill the application form – 20th May 2016
- IAS 2016 Admit Card release date – last week of July 2016
- IAS 2016 (Prelims) – 07th August 2016
- IAS 2016 (Main) – 03rd December 2016
The IAS Examination is conducted in two phases- Preliminary and Main Examination. However there are three stages of examination which also includes the interview part. The candidates qualifying in the preliminary examination will be called for the Main Examination and subsequently in the Interview part which is considered as the toughest of all the examination conducted in the country. The candidates should check out the exam pattern common in the two written examinations:
Preliminary Exam:
- There would be two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
- The names of the paper would be -Paper – I is General Studies and Paper-II is Civil Services Aptitude Test.
- Both the papers will be objective by nature and for the convenience of every examinee; the paper will be set in both Hindi and English.
Main Examination:
- There will be 9 papers in the Main examination with all being a conventional essay type questions carrying around 250 marks.
- Paper I and Paper II of the Main Exam are qualifying in nature while the remaining seven papers will be based on the optional subjects that will be chosen by the candidate.
- The maximum marks for the two qualifying papers will be 300 each and that for the remaining seven papers will be 250 marks.
IAS 2016 Application Form
Some of the important information of the IAS 2016 Application form is as follows:
- The application form will be accepted through online only.
- The application form will be available on the Commission’s website.
- The applicant will have to fill the application form by completing the two-parts of the form viz. Part-I and Part-II Registration.
- In the part- I registration, candidates will have to fill in all the details and upload the scanned imaged of the photo & signature.
- In Part-II, candidates will have to make payment of the requisite application fee.
- The fee can be paid via online mode or through the challan which is to be deposited in the State Bank of India.
