How is Shani Jayanti celebrated
The
birthday of Shani is known as Shani Jayanti. Shani, who is one of the nine
planets in the solar system, is considered one of the significant planets in
astrology. Saturdays are the days of Shani, and the planet represents the West
direction. Shani is represented by a black dog, and crow is his mount.
Shani
is known as karmic planet because he savors people for their karmas done in the
past life. People who have done evil things in their past life get punished by
Shani in different ways. Similarly, those who have performed virtues and
goodwill to others get savored by Shani in a graceful way. The grace of Shani
has the power to bring achievement to the person, he lives with an optimistic
nature toward life, and no mental negativity such as depression and anxiety
harass them.
If
one has Saturn in a malefic position in their chart, the person struggles their
whole life. He has to put every single effort into achieving things; even then,
it seems like all his efforts go in vain.
Worshipping
Saturn brings benefic results to the native. He gets blessed by the grace of
Shani, and gradually his life comes on track. Shani Jayanti is always a great
occasion to remember Shani. It is the most suitable day on which devotees can
worship Shani and observe fasting for him.
It
is believed that when you invoke a particular planet or Lord on their
birthdays, it easily connects you with them and sends your prayers to them.
This year Shani Jayanti will fall on 10th June 2021. Those who are struggling
in life because of the bad effects of Shani should visit the Shani temple and
offer the oil Abhishekam to Shani.
Legends
behind Shani
Hindu
mythology sees Shani as the son of Lord Surya and Chaya. It is said that
Surya’s first wife, Sandhya, had a son called Yama and a daughter called Yami.
However, due to Surya’s radiance, Sandhya was not able to tolerate him and live
with him.
Hence
Sandhya left her shadow “Chaya” to take care of her husband, Surya. This way,
Sandhya also ensured that her kids don’t feel like living without a mother.
Later Chaya and Surya fell in love and produced a child who was called Shani.
Surya’s sons Yama and Shani punish the living beings based on their karmas.
However, Shani punishes them during the lifetime, whereas Yama punishes them
after their life.
It
is also said that when Shani took birth and opened his eyes right after the
birth. This event made the Sun eclipsed, and hence Shani is not considered a
benefic planet. However, Shani is like a teacher who teaches lessons to his
students. Even if one has to learn it the hard way, Shani makes sure that one
learns his lessons during his lifetime.
This
way, when one has got all the teachings of Shani, he receives Shani’s grace in
the end. The individual comes with a more refined personality, and after all
his efforts when he got name, fame, and wealth, he values them like his life.
Shani’s
task is to teach an individual his lessons. If one doesn’t learn them in this
lifetime, Shani does the same in the next lifetime until the person learns.
