The US search engine operator is testing out black colored links to bring a change for its users  in the high tech world.

Soon, Google search could appear quite different: the American search engine developer is test launching its results page new version with black links, instead of the familiar blue. Users started to report the visual change on 8TH May 2016, suggesting that the Mountain View based is embarking on one of its well-known “A/B tests”. The organization regularly does a small change for a subset of its users, testing how they give a response before determining whether or not to launch it out to the extensive user base.

By paying attention to minute things, Google has benefitted in the previous times. When it famously took the decision to launch advertisements on gmail, it tested to pick between 40 various blue shades.  Switching over from the blue color to black color, the organization would do a far bigger change. So if the American organization upgrades from test to feature, one can surely say that a huge amount of money is being invested to do so.

The company thinks a lot regarding which exact color should it use in its facilities- and that is done for a nice reason. Some years ago its “A/B tests” of various blue shades- nicknamed “50 shades of blue" – earned an additional £138 million ($200 million) for the organization.

Google’s designers could not decide between 2 different blue shades, so they took the decision to test out 41 shades between every blue to find out which users should be preferred. While testing, the Alphabet’s subsidiary showed each of the shades to 1% of its users, and discovered that users were more probable to tap on a somewhat more purple shade.

More recently, Google has faced criticism regarding the meticulous attention, which it has paid to detail of design in the past times. If the views given by  users on Reditt, Google and Twitter’s forums indicate anything, it’s not probable that the modifications will be done across the border quite soon.

In past times, Google has previously used red colored links in China. It’s spokesperson stated the company is  "always" examining minor changes to its search results page.  At this occasion, the company admits "We're not quite sure that black is the new blue."

In the tech industry, the company is not the  only one to do “A/B tests” on its own users. In recent times, Netflix conceded that it tests a half a dozen difficult pictures for a large number of film as well as TV titles, and launches out the one on which the largest number of users tap on. The American social networking company Facebook has also done tests developed to manipulate users emotionally by highlighting negative as well as positive emotions whereas OK Cupid has deliberately matched incompatible persons to view the outcomes.
