Food COMBINATIONS
What's Wrong ? ........... What's Right ?
We have heard it before, All foods go the same place!
But that does not mean that the human stomach is able to digest any number of different foods at the same time, the scientific reason behind the food-combining theory is that foods can be alkaline or acidic in nature and need certain different enzymes for digestion. If these different types of food are eaten together, it can cause indigestion, gas and can also lead to some pathology like arthritis and irritable bowel syndrome.
For instance, soya milk and egg should not be eaten together. This is because soya milk can reduce the activity of protease, which is used to help the human body assimilate protein. Eggs are, of course, very rich in protein.
Believe it or not, milk and chocolate do not mix either. while milk is rich in protein and calcium, chocolate contains oxalic acid . Eaten together, calcium from milk and oxalic acid from chocolate can combine and form insoluble calcium oxalate, which is not only indigestible but also can cause diarrhea. Milk products also do not go with some vegetables, like broccoli, soy beans and spinach. Chemicals in these vegetables negatively affect assimilation of calcium of milk products.
Combination To Remember
Eat fruit alone as it digested very quickly. When eaten with any other food , like cereals or meat it cross- reacts, ferments and ultimately putrefies [decays] releasing toxic gases.
Tomatoes should never be combined with starchy food as the combination of various acids in the tomato, which are intensified in cooking, clash with the alkaline digestion of starches. Tomatoes may be eaten with leafy vegetables or fatty foods.
Carbohydrate foods and acid should not be eaten at the same time. Do not eat bread, rice or potatoes with lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, pineapples, tomatoes to other sour fruit, Fruit acids not only prevent carbohydrate digestion but also produce fermentation.
Cold beverage like iced water and fizzy drinks should not be taken after a meal it decreases digestion fire, which leads to indigestion.
By sharing just a little Idea about mixing and eating food separately I do hope my friends would have a little Idea, how we should all mix our food...
