Profiles need attention.
Profiles are the BEST place to tell our story. Who we are, Where we live, our likes, dislikes, hobbies etc, and although it's not a place to Blatantly advertise, it is appropriate to mention our core business as well as our purpose here (at a social network site).
The problem is, there is a 500 character limit on our profiles and that really isn't enough to tell our personal story.
I'm guessing this is one of the reasons so many profiles are straight out advertisements.
Does anyone else think we need an increase in characters in our profiles ?

Hi Eric,
In my opinion no, All you have to do is post a full bio in your group and then in your profile you can link to it as i have done.
I dont think the reason profiles are just ads is due to the lack of space, but due to the lack of thought by those that do it.
Seeing pure ads in profiles tells me alot about the person.

Yes I certainly do think we need an increase. If they gave us 500 words it would be much easier. the 500 characters they give us now is not enough.

Trying to actually put your information in your profile with out sounding abrupt, terse or impatient is difficult at best.
