Hi folks, We can see "Group" in almost every social network sites. But what does it mean indeed? Why shall we need it? How to make group active? I will add your anwser in this thread later. Let me collect and list some apsensers' point of views here. Chuck Bartok, a "group" was an ongoing discussion about the premise stated by the group Author, meeting of like mind to dicsuss a common thread.... ppl_cheryl63, The group member's have the opportunity to get to know each other and bond which is not really possible when you have thousands of individuals all mixed together in one group because of different interests and divergent viewpoints. mteodor, - An assemblage of persons or objects gathered or located together; an aggregation. - A number of individuals or things considered together because of similarities. Eric J.Smith, It can be of people, plants, objects or anything that "groups" together. Lee, learn from others and occasionally teach others what I know and we can work together as a “team”. BethsVentures, talk something in common Lateeef Oladeji, pursue a common goal. Angel Greene, Group to me means a network of people getting together and working together to make there bussinesses work better and to learn more from each other. SiddhInfo, more exchanges of views and grab if any good opportunity listed by other members. by reading all your comments. Here is my thought about what a GOOD group does. 1. common interest in the same group 2. each group has a common goal 3. share, learn, teach for each other in groups 4. make friends

Whenever I see the word or hear "Group" ..my thoughts are positve. My definition of a group is~ individuals coming together with mutal goals in mind & combining their strenghts to accomplish them.
We need groups here in Apsense to make up this wonderful environment. You have the choice as to which group you would like to join...the ones that are most beneficial to you personally and business wise.

Finally, as far as making groups active, depends completely on the members involved. You ge

What I think joining more groups means more exchanges of views and grab if any good opportunity listed by other members. Sometime we can put our question also to other regarding some program which we are doubtful about.

Hi Chuck

Cheryl has it correct this applies to the "APSense Group" not ALL of APSense.

Each Group has its own specifications on what the creator of the group permits.

I believe the ban on pointing or inviting to other groups is specific to the APSense group itself. If I'm not mistaken, owners/administrators of our created groups would set the policy.

Wow,
there are some things here that create some real questions.
I, like others, assumed a group was meeting of like mind
to dicsuss a common thread....

Such as Lead generation, painting, teaching, fixing cars and so on.
What I find strange ids the following

"Also please note you are not
allowed to invite people to join your groups in any post or comment
in the APSense group"

So in a discussion in a group, someone could not point to another
spot on Apsense to enhance the "Po

Group, from the point of view of a business social network like Apsense, is a collection of members who have come together to pursue a common goal. There could, however, be divergent views on how the common goal could best get accomplished. However, the common goal remains the common denominator. If the divergent views cannot be reconciled, the group stands on a shaky ground, and may not achieve much. The onus lies on the Group Administrator to always keep the goal in focus and in proper perspec

Hi Beth,

For those that do not do the "your" is a general "your" not a direct "your" as in you personally.

Also please note you are not allowed to invite people to join your groups in any post or comment in the APSense group.

See the revised Group description than now makes this perfectly clear and no longer open to individual interpretation.

Hi Beth,

re quote"
some groups here prefer well written content.... others aren't as intimidating
"unquote

It is my opinion that the only people that will find groups that want quality content intimidating are those that are incapable of contributing quality content and only know how to post copy and paste ads.

As for quote" the one post groups do not merrit is a blatant ad" unquote.

This is very true. We all have our own groups and can post what we want in them. There is abs

Groups here at APSense are like Forums anywhere else.. it is like all have said that it's a group of people who have something in common. Where it is like a forum is that it can be designated for a particular type of posting... discussions, hobbies, marketing in terms of tips, promoting, advice, how to's etc... some groups here prefer well written content.... others aren't as intimidating and are delighted to have posts withing the category/concept of the group if even a few words!

For me joining a group is an opportunity to learn from others and occasionally teach others what I know.
It allows me to see things from a different perspective (or several different perspectives).
I believe a group can be a place where we can work together as a “team”.
Groups can be a “good thing” or a “bad thing” depending on how they are used and the motives behind them.
Segregation comes to mind as a bad thing.

It seems as though we have the definition of group covered. So I will move onto how to get them active and stay that way. We do this by posting quality content. We could be discussing anything as long as it makes others interested enough to reply. Group discussions are just that....discussions....or comments about an article, poem or even joke. Group posts should make members want to interact with each other. The one post that has no group merit is a blatant ad....members do not discuss advertis

My idea of a group?

A gathering of like-minded individuals who share a passion or common interest towards a particular subject. Essentially, the subject can be anything you can imagine, personally I like to see people united and dedicated to making a difference in each others lives and engaged in the pursuit of truth and happiness. To me a real group is made up people who are always there to help and serve the needs of the group first! Real people, Real leaders, Real concern for the well-b

According to the free dictionary online:
- An assemblage of persons or objects gathered or located together; an aggregation.
- A number of individuals or things considered together because of similarities.
- A military unit consisting of two or more battalions and a headquarters.
Etc...
But Chuck and Cheryl have better definitions!

I always conceived group to mean a smaller community of individuals with a common interest/goal within the entire network. The groups can focus on sharing information and ideas among themselves in setting devoted to it. The group member's have the opportunity to get to know each other and bond which is not really possible when you have thousands of individuals all mixed together in one group because of different interests and divergent viewpoints.

I think groups will naturally grow if the i
