Where would product reviews go ?
Not "officially" advertising, but having a link to a product...
Which blog category would Product Reviews be placed in and/or would a "Product review" category be a good inclusion ?

if using a url then classifieds as you are advertising the product.

What about testimonials or reviews on products we do not represent ourselves.

Hi Eric,
As far as I see it there are two reasons we post product reviews.
1 to promote the product and get commissions from the sales we make by giving it a good review and getting people to purchase the product using naturally our own referral url.
This is in my opinion an ad and should be in classifieds.
2 To warn people of a rip off and or dubious product. In this case we naturally would not put a link and therefore it would not be an ad.
