What's Your Take On Groups at APSense?

Joining Networking Groups is the main attraction for people in in relationship sponsoring. If we have limited groups, some people get left out. If we allow everyone to have several groups, we end up with info overload and the quality of the posts can not be moderated. You sure can win the Popularity Contest this way. But what about the Crown? Content Is King! Your Thoughts, The GoodNews team

Great. I wondered what those paperclips were doing?
Now I know. See folks, this is the great thing about apsense. Each day we learn something we didn't know before.
Thanks people.

Somewhere along the line I saw a comment about APSense the group possibly having group listings separate from other groups. Is this possible? It would be nice to see subjects from other groups displayed.

I do have APSense Express but I spend a lot of time on the computer posting blogs and every time I get a notification it seems to interrupt what I'm typing and I have to go back and fill in the letters I was trying to type. It's not feasible to deal with those interruptions every time I ge

Personally, I like the groups but would like to see more diversity. I took some time to go through the various group categories and it seems those not directly related to business or marketing tend to have the lower numbers.

Because business is so diverse, we need all groups (in every topic) to grow. Business opportunities are great, but is that all apsense is for?

I'd love to see more groups full of content dealing with topics outside of opportunities and marketing. For instance, a per

Hi James Max

Missed this topic before! LOL

Yup - ApSense is new and I think we are getting on the right track and this is becoming a very useful as well as enjoyable place to be.

I don't think the numbers of Groups are a problem as long as they are properly categorized -YES FOLKS I will never give up on this one! lol

If the categories are well organized in the Directories and Indices we will ALWAYS be able to find the things that interest us. If not - they will be lost in the crush of "op

Thank you Eric, Bill and Beth.
That's great to know. Now I know I can safely use that icon if I really love a subject posted in a group.

Smaller groups is not necessarily a bad thing. It's easier to get to know everyone in a smaller group. So it's easier to build relationships with them. And if the group happens to be rather focused on a specific topic the members will usually have some common ground to start building on that they would not have in the larger groups.

Hi Thea...

yes, "Stick it" is a good thing! for the post that you want to showcase!!! I try and bring up to the top members posts that have slipped a little ... and I try not to keep all of mine at the top... someone has there's like that and you nearly have to go to the next page to see what is newly posted!

Admin can "Stick it!" and this is good... to "un-Stick it!" removes it from top of the list!

It does cause one to pause and think when about to click on it!

Hi Thea,

In your Group you use the Stick it to keep any posts you feel most important at the top of the list in your group.

Then no matter what new items you post in your group they will go below the ones you have used the Stick it on.

You can tell which posts have had Stick it applied as they have the little green back ground ! and paperclip icon against them.

It will not have any affect on other groups.

Hi Thea,

I think that basiclly "pins" your topic to the top of the topics list.

Similar to the way Max has pinned his reply to the top of this thread only it does it to the list of topics.

Adding Wings To Our Unique Life Journey!

I looked for the best place to ask my question. Hope it's OK to post it here since this subject is related to Groups.
I tried searching it at the FAQ's page and it didn't show up anywhere.

Alongside new subject postings in my groups I noticed the term "Stick It".

I don't want to use the link in case I'm doing something negative toward someone's newly created subject.

Would someone please tell me what "Stick It" is and when I'd use it?

Thank you.

I'm a newbie to this website. It's difficult for me to be sure what is being said at times. This is my first time at a site like this and I am finding it to be quite interesting.

Hi Max,

I'm an active member of about 4 social networks. It's fun, and at the same time much work is involved. It's important to have direction and set objectives. I've chosen to stay away from groups with the main object to self promote.

I've found that those groups offer no value to anyone seeking a business opportunity and very little information on how to building a business.

Hi Max,

I think we can easily get spending too much time here, its easy to do.
The groups spreading out a bit are fine with me, everyone has different
taste. It gives those with strengths to express themselves and since it
is WEB 2.0 I can see that different terminology can bring results for some
groups and others nothing. I try and keep in mind its quality not quantity,
I love diversity so that has never bothered me. Going into someones group
I think you find out more about them, this can b

Hi Max

the quality of posts can in a way be moderated by the use of the "top it" "drop it" option, providing it is used sensibly.

by sensibly I mean

Do judge a post on its merits.
is it well written.
does it give useful information
is it original content

Do not judge a post based on
if the poster is a freind or not
if the poster has a higher rating than the reader has on their posts.

Hi everyone...

I'm not sure what Max was getting at in his comment but from the comments it seems that most see APSense as I do... the groups are great and there's getting to be hobbies and interests... I've joined a group about Folktales or Folklore that has just started up...

I have all 5 groups... and now that I read Valeries reasoning, I can see why one would have been a good way to go... then most were joining the groups who were showing up as the top rated groups and that fed their n

APSense is still very new to many marketers.
Business does mean everything for our life, we can use groups to get touch with people who have the common hobbies or interests.

Why not have your hobby to drive your business into next stage?

I don’t think of it as popularity but energy. It is very important to push up the energy level to get activity right at first.

I have chosen to focus all my efforts in one group. I agree that you can loose potential by spreading out too soon. Once your group can stand on its own then add another group that may interest you.

One thing I feel is a mistake is to form groups that are so micro focused others don’t feel they have room to join.

If you form a group for th

More groups = Less members per group. Since More groups to choose from. (Theory)

Less Groups = Not enough content. Limited networking abilities for Members.

I think its probably about right where its at.
