It's funny you know! All I have ever got out of this Apsense thing is a box full of ads pushing somebodies business or deal to buy?
Oh! but I open it up every day, just to be polite, stops me getting any work done etc! - and then Bam!
I don't even know how I did this but I just got this 100% spam rating in my accont details? Zero's beside everything else!
Guess I should be grateful?....I finally got something hey?

Hi
I'm a little confused about all this 'spamming'. I thought we were allowed to place ads as long as they were in the appropriate places. Same with contacting people in our contact lists if we found something particular contacts might be interested in. Am I doing somethign wrong and if I am will someone tell me or will I be reported annonymously?
Checking today my account has a 'spam' percentage of 100%. Does this mean everything I have written is considered spam?
Some advice please.
With social networking sites, we would expect to see ads on the site, links in signatures, blatant ads IN blatant ad sections.
Its the unrelated posts, private messages and that type of unexpected and unwanted messages that is considered SPAM.
Just like we can put "No Junk Mail" signs on our letterboxes, we simply need a flagging system that says "No SPAM mail" on our profiles. If this request is violated, report the user. Simple solution.
I'm not sure why 2 people marked Nicholas Frank Russo's post as unrelated, but can only assume it is because he mentioned his site.
This is where spam reporting borders on ridiculous. There are no links, it relevent to the topic, and only mentions his website.
I agree with you Pete that keeping content relevent in groups is critical to keeping good quality content. I hope the "spam policing" doesn't get to the point of being downright silly. Playing devils advocate here, as an examp
Think about it folks
You start a Group about baking cookies and someone sends out a Blatant ad about making money selling software if you folks think that's not spamming and you welcome that just go for it some deserve egg on there face.

I agree with you Pete (But its APsense, not ADsense ;o).
Sending and/or manipulating SPAM emails is, in my opinion, not only unethical, it also supports an industry that makes Legitimate Marketing Harder BECAUSE of the SPAM industry. For example, getting emails delivered these days is hard enough because of spam FILTERS blocking legitimate messages.
In spite of being the author of the "ads in my inbox" post, I agree that spam can be dealt with in a positive manner. I invite spam in my email inbox and would never consider making a spam complaint - here or anywhere for that matter. My concern with people who post multiple copy/paste ads in groups or private messages, is that they are 1. wasting THEIR time because they are not taking the time to build a relationship, and 2. there are more appropriate places to do that.
I must agree with Online Marketing Connection .
There is a way to put spam to good use. Since the
spam came without requesting it, it is no violation
to reply back to the sender. I make a very general
invitation to add myself to their contact list in exchange
for my doing the same. I ask for a reply to verify the
sender's permission. This adds a hundered or so
contacts to my list each month and is as simple as
copy and pasting a saved message into the reply email.
We will never be rid
I have been hearing comments regarding spam and find it sort of amusing to see so many people are offended by spam. Myself it is non affective to me. I do not mind it one bit.
What I want to point out is this. When I first started my online activities i was not getting any responses and did not know how to generate any. my email account was dead. I learned how to turn on the spam machine before i learned anything. One way to do this is join groups.
Nicolas Yes that's right The problem is that folks are joining many groups and using the same ads and just promoting there advertisement. but it will get better. so share your knowledge, businesses & expertise that's not blatant advertising

No if you have 100% that is spam free..if you drop below 60% you won't be able to post until you have brought your score back up. Lynn
