This YUWIE spam thing is getting ridiculous

Please note this is NOT an attack on Yuwie but on individual Spammers promoting Yuwie Whats with all the YUWIE spam ads from multiple members here... It looks to me like someone is probably telling their downline to come here and spam away. I've even had requests from private groups from these spammers. I'm not against other social networks... i'm a member of several (Although APsense is by far the best) but there really needs to be some sort of way to report spam when there are up to 20 messages in a row from the same person promoting the same thing. It certainly doesn't do YUWIE any good. I cancelled my membership a month or so back because of all the spam they do to promote. They are certainly giving themselves a bad report. But to restate why i posted this in the APsense group, we need "some" sort of way to report / delete spam posts - i know this has been debated to death before... but its going to be the undoing of APsense if its not fixed. All the SPAM is going to give APsense the same reputation as other Social Networks that allow multiple messaging.

Hi Cheryl, and everyone else that has commented

As I pointed out in the post i made today that is part of the job Lynn and I do for the founders and yes we will bring it to their attention and make sure they see this thread.

Personally I contacted the member that made the 12 posts and asked if he realised what damage he had just done to himself.
Told him he had branded himself as a spammer and no one will do business with a spammer.
Also that he had just shafted himself with the

By the way I reported this to Yuwie much earlier in the day in addition to posting a warning on the notice boardabout members spamming other sites.

And yes to basically say you want to kill a site because of the actions of a few is offensive. As Eric pointed out 3 users today that are spamming out of how many thousands? It's not the site you need to have an issue with but THOSE individuals. Yes it's annoying. It's just as annoying as people sending me private messages trying to sell me some

If management over at yuwie has any kind of ethics and vision they will do the right thing and combat the spam that is occuring too! And we sure as heck need to combat it here, don't we? Or do we want spam to take over the network? I don't think so.

Thanks TYSDomains. By the way, i doubt we will have a "quote" function.

As you can see at the bottom " To avoid Ads, UBBCODE or HTML is NOT allowed in comments, max 5000 chars"

But back to the topic, yeah it quite sucks that non-members of YUWIE can't report. So can i request something.

Those YUWIE members who are working hard and not spamming everywhere, please report such spammers to help the company, yourself and those spammings. It would save everyone's time and money.

I agree Cheryl,

Thats why i clarified that this post is about Spam in general, of which 3 users today have been promoting Yuwie in every group they could find... it would seem.

Unfortunately there are always minority groups in any program that will teach there downline to spam, heck there are probably APsense members on other networks doing the same thing and hopefully those networks are professional enough to help stop it happening there.

We need to do this now because it has brought Apsense down quite a few notches, DIGG was the last straw for me, I cannot bookmark posts because of these lazy people and yet they continue to do it!!

It is QUALITY that counts! This is what a Social Networking Site is built upon, not posting ad after ad after infer

The majority of people at Yuwie are not spammers. The spammers are a minority. A sorry to say it but even if Yuwie went out of business tomorrow, it would not stop the spam. Some other site would pop up and you'd have the same problem.

There are responsible Yuwie members on APSense, so don't paint the whole group with one tar brush. Some of us have stronglu pointed out to those with large downlines that encouraging their members to recruit on other social networking sites is irresponsible a

Yeah, there's been lots of spams ralated to Yuwie spotted in APSense.

But you must understand that spam is very hard to erradicate. You can report user for abuse/spam. He gets deleted. Then, the same guy can just start up another account and repeat the process.

It's the mentality of these people that we need to change.

I think any program is only a result of the quality of the membership, admin & therefore the topics discussed. I do have opinions of yuwie as a network but i didn't start the topic to belittle the company itself but rather to highlight the spammers promoting it.

Having said that i am in agreement with the replies so far but i don't want this thread to turn into a I love it / I hate it slang match... not that it is or would - I just want to restate that this post was about the Spammers (and sp

I too have a low opinion of Yuwie.

I met a few good people over there, but for the most part my experience of Yuwie itself was that it was just a bunch of people slapping each other on the back yelling "Isn't Yuwie Great!!" I found very little real networking going on there. Y ou could get a thousand page views, and maybe three people would check out anything you had to say in your blogs, or comment.

Thanks Lynn for the info about the contact support button.

In the future I will rep

I'm in Yuwie, not that I go there very often. Everything is so slow and you have to click past the 'please take a moment to visit our sponsor' on practically every page!
However, please don't think all Yuwie members do is spam. I'v never seen it encouraged anywhere in Yuwie,
Yes, you do get paid (i think) for absolutely everythhing you do/having your pages viewed/posting comments/viewing op's pages so people might think the multiple posting is helping by just getting folks to go have a look!

Hi christopher

If they are your posts created by you being spammed its your responsibility to delete the spam comments. If they are posts in your group again its your responsibility to remove them and if you so wish go to manage members and ban them.

You should also put in an abuse report through the contact form and selecting abuse.

G`day,

yeah, what does that do Lynn? I`ve reported a blatant spammer several days ago that keeps spamming my posts ... their posts are still there .. so how long does it take? (She`s spammed other threads also, exactly the same thing each time)

The Yuwie Bums get paid for not only members joining but views of their pages or something (someone please clarify this). I have reported one Yuwie Bum to Spamcop just now as I couldn`t contact Yuwie itself without joining first ... that says it all

Eric,

You may report this through the contact support button. Just choose the spam/abuse option.
Also as group owners you may block these members from posting in your groups. It is my understanding that you can only report spam to yuwie if you are a member. And I don't belong. But, that is another option for members of that social network.
