This YUWIE spam thing is getting ridiculous

Please note this is NOT an attack on Yuwie but on individual Spammers promoting Yuwie Whats with all the YUWIE spam ads from multiple members here... It looks to me like someone is probably telling their downline to come here and spam away. I've even had requests from private groups from these spammers. I'm not against other social networks... i'm a member of several (Although APsense is by far the best) but there really needs to be some sort of way to report spam when there are up to 20 messages in a row from the same person promoting the same thing. It certainly doesn't do YUWIE any good. I cancelled my membership a month or so back because of all the spam they do to promote. They are certainly giving themselves a bad report. But to restate why i posted this in the APsense group, we need "some" sort of way to report / delete spam posts - i know this has been debated to death before... but its going to be the undoing of APsense if its not fixed. All the SPAM is going to give APsense the same reputation as other Social Networks that allow multiple messaging.

Indeed, education is the best policy when dealing with the ignorant.

Perhaps the spammers could find themselves unable to continue with their interface priviledges here until such time as they complete a training program.

I.e. you get a couple of chances, use them up and it is off to Apsense school on probation until you pass the training. Continue with the breaches of the terms and perhaps it would be better for your business if you do your spamming somewhere else.

Now as for Yuwie, I think

Hi Cristopher and David

We are contacting these people when we see them.
If others would do the same maybe the more that tell them the quicker they will get the message.

For everyone.

Do Lynn and I need help?

Yes and the help we need is for group owners and originators of posts to take responsibility for keeping thier own houses clean.

If someone spams your group with a post delete it.
If someone posts a spam comment in a post delete it.

Excellent suggestion Mo, i`m sure BJ and Lynn need all the help they can get ... perhaps some more "admin" is needed (no I don`t want the job .. hahha) even just for the period of cleansing ... lol .. ring to it aye ... I need sleep perhaps

P.S. it`s obvious most people that actually post here don`t read threads and certainly very rarely post comments ... they`re simply treating it as a place to dump links which is ....... can`t even think of a word for it .. i`m tire

Christopher, I know lynn and BJ are covered up right now, what with holidays, their own businesses, family and etc. I have taken the initiative of catching duplicate posts on my apsense express and if they are obviously a newbie, just sending them a friendly note that what they are doing is duplicate posting.

As we run across these, we will start to recognize the chronic spammers from the newbies who have been mislead by some mktng gooroo!

The newbies we can help, and the spammers we can

Mizrae, I have reported it but I also posted a notice on the board about it. However it seems that there was one person here who would occasionally post something about Yuwie. Unfortunately a lot of others there have decided to come here and do the same thing. However as more of these members come here it has turned into Spam. Most of the Yuwie members are not here but these few have just seemed to overrun the place.

But that is not the work of Yuwie but some of it's members. We have our o

Using my APSense express, I see that a bunch of the Yuwie duplicate posts are GONE!

Group effort like this, once again, has improved APSense!!

Let me add, I AM a member of Yuwie AND members no longer get page view counts for OUTSIDE sources looking at their profile pages! Yuwie does not want or need the reputation of spamming and bans users accounts for blatant advertising on their profile pages. I like Yuwie, and if you logged in everyday as I do, you would meet the other members that I have who DO have quality posts. Having said that, with respect to any social networking site that I have spent time at, you will always find "spamm

David ,

Your welcome. Some members when they use the contact link...see the word support and don't realize there are other options. Abuse/Spam is the one to use for this. I liked your idea about informing admins of groups, having a buddy system works great. Let each other know if you see this going on in each others group. Also members may consider getting a co-admin for their groups. An extra set of eyes is always good. And they could delete spam posts as well

San has just pointed out something i feel has a major impact. The way a site develops is often determined by the guidelines in place..... Said guidelines being a direct reflection of the mentality of the persons creating the site.

I don't think the man behind Yuwie necessarily has ill intent toward other networks, but I DO think him and his inner group have the 'get rich quick' mentality that have led to so many of the 'spammers' mentalities. The internet is stuffed full of this crap, some

Okay, I am amazed! (easily done I hear you all cry!)
I have just been over to Yuwie to report the spamming. Could I find anywhere to report it? Heck no.
It's not even listed in the FAQ! So I tried to contact the helpdesk - closed on Sundays!
Looked through the TOS - must admit a lot of these baffle me, but it seems to me that most of it relates to what they put on thier Yuwie site- the wording seems to not be interested in how they promote Yuwie, but how they use it. However, I'm not a legal

Well I would like to see what management comes up with, I almost think people need to be educated on the matter before they are even allowed to post anything here, might at least weed out the one's who are Ignorant from the one's who made an honest mistake this way.

Thats possible Hackers, but we have been reasonably spam free for some time (except the "odd" regular spammer) then all of a sudden we get hit by 3 Yuwie members all within minutes of each other... it may well be an assumption but one that reads like a "cartel"...

Also, at first i thought it was a simple typo, but is there 2 different sites - "Yuwie" & "Yewie" ?

First off, I know Eric this is your blog and I am not here to cause any more conflict. I have told you when I say what I feel..I say it.
This is my opinion...and please no attacks 'or assumptions'.

But has anyone thought of these people know NOTHING about marketing period? They are just regular every day myspacers that see how much they love it...moving on to yewie...making money? And wanting to join our world?
This is a whole new world to be learned, and I know I don't want to scare anyone awa

Hey Christopher,

I think you should be careful in saying that "Yuwie is Sending members here to spam". We can't belittle another site just because of a few members...

Although i do get your point.

G`day,

Eric, 12? TWO is duplicate but I do get your point, anyone that cut/pastes provided affiliate promo material is up against hundreds, thousands .... and as I showed the other day ... millions of pages with exactly the same thing.

Even if you take that provided promo material and post it once here, well a 1000 other Sheeple do that also ... YOU MUST BE ORIGINAL ... PERIOD!

hey EXCELLENT news BJ, thankyou for actually acknowledging this problem, has anybody thought that this could b

Hi Beth,

Adding a banner or ad in a post is not the issue... its when 12 (or more) ad posts pop up in different groups (ALL copy / paste) within minutes of each other from the same member.

The major issue with this is that Search Engines look upon multiple copies of the same content on one domain as a BAD thing... this can lead to APsense being banned from search engines and also gives the person posting a bad (SPAM) reputation.

Not to mention its simply annoying having to go through do

Hi Eric and any others that read this...

I recently posted a blog article which had my Yuwie banner in it as part of what I was writing about! oh no! but I just happened to do this when all this alleged spamming is occurring.

Are the Yuwie ads showing up in the wrong groups? They missed my List Your Ventures group! I should put mine in there I guess! (smiles)

Sorry to here some were diligently promoting a different sort of social network. I'm not familiar with it.... just realized that
