Online marketing surprises.
When you work hard at building relationships and helping people, after some time you see some nice surprises.
There are still new things that are happening to me following the webinar I did about APSense a few weeks ago.
I put all my heart into that webinar. I took the exercise seriously, because I wanted to make sure I wouldn't make a fool of myself. I had a feeling there was little chance of that happening, still I played it safe by putting down in writing what I wanted to talk about. It helped me to have a structured webinar.
Since then, here are some of the surprises I got:
- I needed a script to use in a widget on my blog to show some of my videos on random. A good friend offered to do it, and he delivered. There was one little thing I asked when I saw the result, he not only improved on it but overdelivered, it now has a choice of information I can show in the widget along with the video.
- A site owner who saw part of the webinar liked it a lot, he told me I have good "stage presence". He offered me to be a moderator in a conference room we will use to give training and support on a variety of subjects. I told him I couldn't be there all the time, he had no problem with that, he understands I have my own projects to take care of. I saw his offer as an opportunity to build a strong relationship with him and also brand myself as someone who can be a coach.
There have been other surprises, but these are the ones that came off the top of my head as I had an article to write as today's mission at APSense.
If you want to know more, send me PMs, or ask questions in the Skype room. I will need to check with those 2 friends to know what they allow me to reveal.
All in all, I am discovering the power of webinars to brand yourself. Not just as a moderator or room owner. It's fun to participate in webinars where you are allowed to chat and comment, it's another very nice way to build your online presence and to get to know other people.
