@Cindy the option you may not have thought of is to get a high school kid to come over and help you set it up, then it's plug and play. If you want Windows, boot up as normal, when you want Linux, put the stick in first.

@Cindy if you could at least get Browser Linux installed on a USB stick drive and teach your laptop to boot from it, then use Firefox to surf the Intenet from there, you wouldn't need much else to discover how simple it is. Then your Windows would be off limits to the bad guys.

@Dan... Shady areas sounds like a man of mystery!

That is true, Warren. I use virtual computers to get into some shady areas of the internet and I can tell you there is no anti-virus out there that can stop them all. I have completely destroyed my virtual computers from viruses protected by Avast! and AVG alike.

@Cindy the difference is TIME. I see so many people day in and day out swearing that their anti-whatever WORKS and they have no reason to fear. The truth is they just haven't waited long enough. Think about how many hackers and bandits are out there thinking up new methods to get to you, that the anti-whatever folks have NOT EVEN HEARD OF YET! The ONLY way to completely protect Windows from Internet hackers and bandits is NOT TO BE THERE! If you feel complacent, you are in the worst position of
