I don;t think you can loose your church but can loose the tax exempt status if an imaginary line is crossed. The tax status is garbage.

First there was no income tax until the early 1900s. Then I think LBJ was running for Senator or something in 1954 and he introduced this concept that churches can't talk about politics and it passed into law. For more accurate accounting look it up on wikipedia. His opponent was backed by churches.

But if we look at the formation of the USA the British c

Sue and Shawn Kelly, I thought long and hard about how to respond. On the surface we agree but I never leave things there...I always dig deeper to the heart of the matter and that is why I'm going to ask you this:

Any tax exempt religious organization is required to sign over there rights not to speak or do anything against the government. In my mind this means US government is #1 and GOD is #2 thus why things are happening. Ignoring the problem because money is involved is a dangerous all in i

There seems to be a similarity. (Conventional) religions argue against each other they are the only true path to God .And so do politicians. The claim from both is that they will improve the quality of life. The method from both seems to be to instil a sort of fear that the "other side" will take us to some form of misery. And in both systems, dare I say that one is accusing the other of lies.. Are taxes are the old compulsory tithes? Just my thoughts too ;-)
