You can eat sweets but you must control the amount. My daughter has Type 1 and takes insulin shots 4 times a day and she can still eat sweets if she watches it very closely. My wife has Type 2 and she eats sweets.

I agree with Warren. Extremes are always bad. If the person can maintain control of glucose levels, why not eat something sweet from time to time. A good diet is necessary. My dad want to enter the discussion. False(answer)
Absolutely FALSE, I have had type II Diabetes for over a decade and eat sweets all the time. You just need to balance and plan so it doesn't go over your limits for carbohydrate consumption over a three month period as indicated by your HA1C results.
Thanks for your quick reply: People with type 2 diabetes need to watch their weight and maintain a healthy, balanced diet. But in moderation, and as part of a healthy meal plan, desserts or other sugary foods are not off limits.
