Thanks friends for valuable inputs.
Only if the receiver of the recommendation is honest enough they would delete it or else they will pile up those unwanted recommends too, to add as they have more in number.

When I see recommendations that are spam, I send a private message to the member who received it, I tell them that it doesn't look serious to have accepted such a recommendation, that it's not good for personal branding. Many times, the member thanked me and deleted the recommendation, they hadn't realized the impact of leaving it there.

Here we have the ability to delete the recommendations we received, i too received some useless recommendations like you mentioned and deleted it. The only way to solve this issue is the owner of the profile must delete this kind of unwanted recommendations.

We may not be able to approve or deny ahead of time but we DO have he ability to delete our own received recommendations. Of course we have to be active ourselves to do that.

If an inactive member gets a "recommendation" that is a blatant advertisement, then that's just the price they pay for being inactive, isn't it? The "recommend-er" should thank them for providing free advertising :)

Hi Vijay,
Hii Aaron,...
One reason why I put "my like" on this page is the fact that some of us did not realize what "recommendation" means and what its purpose as well...since I ever read a line of promotion with affiliate link is the only sentence attached in one of our friend's recommendation...
....I prefer to not get lots of them that sound useless or even "not recommended" recommendations tough they will lift our reputation a bit....
As Aaron said, a friendly report may help us to minimize

The idea is good. But it will spoil the reputation of the site too.

The only thing you can do maybe is to add comments on the recommendations.. Contradict it in a nice and professional way, do not mock but instead give suggestions, questions, criticism and no violent reactions ^_^. Hope that helps ^_^
