SEO is an ongoing process. It won't die we can say different different techniques are coming up in order to improve or to maintain the keyword ranking and the old techniques are less impactful.
SEO is a never ending technique, each and every website need to promote the website in order to generate leads. No website can achieve their goals without optimizing their website. Thus SEO is an ongoing process, techniques are changing from time to time but SEO will never die.
SEO is not dead, it just other elements are also playing major role to promote the website such as Content Marketing, Social Media Optimization, and PPC.
SEO is definitely not dead. It fits in with an integrated strategy that involves many different types of content. All of the content you produce should be created with real people in mind. Optimization, not keyword stuffing, can only help your already useful content rank better.
I think Petrus means to say the boob is alive and kicking and wants to teach a lesson to the cow who said some nasty things about him (the boob) and wants to construct a house in the boob's backyard without his permission.
There are quite a few successful marketers who hardly bother about SEO and don't consider it worth the effort as search engines (especially the one that starts with a "G" and ends with an "oogle") keep changing their algorithms. After all, search engines (especially the one...) are in the business for money (i.e. advertising revenue).
Therefore, don't break your head over SEO. Just load your site with good content and explore other avenues to drive traffic. And don't forget to build a list!
I am in agreement with everyone who knows that SEO is not a opportunity but a real disappointment in time and effort thinking that you get anywhere with that type of affiliation. It mostly newbie who encounter this marketing technique thinking that it worthwhile and after a few month became very upset because they thought it was easy but it turns out be a real hassle.
More than anything! I think that Real content, is the biggest thing we can do these days. I think that content has always been king and will always be king! We need to understand that!
SEO is very important and is still alive, but I think social media started to grow and impact more than SEO. They are able to drive even more traffic than the search engines can do, especially if your website or blog is new.
In my opinion combining both of them will give you greater exposure and maximum results.

SEO is not dead but it is evolving and becoming difficult. In addition, it requires a helping hand from PR etc too.
