Hyphens are a very common convention in folder names, and while too many can possibly be a negative in a domain name (it-is-a-really-hyphenated-domain.com for example) they're an accepted practice in folder / file names.

You may be right but my view are different, Actually, i have not used double hyphens, you generally think that it is the part of On page SEO. That is Link Structure, if your site not have proper link structure and internal linking how you get good grade for branding your product that why it is important to fix it.
